The Bachelorette Season 16, Episode 2: Worst moment #2: The Love Languages date

I love the 5 love languages. Who doesn’t? For years, I along with everyone else have used them as a conversation starter, to get to know a romantic partner better, or just to analyze my own behavior. However, I just don’t think the best time to test someone’s skill in Words of Affirmation is when you have just met them. What are they supposed to say to you when they don’t know anything real about you? (We know this came into play later in the episode as well).

In the same vein, the best situation in which to discover your Physical Touch chemistry with someone is probably not blindfolded in front of a group of other men. Groups dates are always awkward, but I could legitimately barely watch as Clare and each contestant stroked each other as the rest of the group looked on.

The one precious thing to occur was the gift-giving portion of this date, which earned a spot as Best moment #1. I wasn’t sure if the men were warned about this and thus had gifts ready, but I assume they had to come up with something on the spot. A few of the gifts were genuinely heartwarming: the Queen chess piece, the baseball, the favorite T-shirt! This lovely portion stood out in an otherwise pointless group date.
