Papa Randolph refuses to give his blessing to Colton Underwood
The Bachelor made Bachelor Nation fans all over the world feel the pain Colton Underwood was feeling when he sat down with Cassie Randolph’s dad. As most leads do during hometown dates, Colton proceeded to ask Papa Randolph for his blessing/permission to propose.
…And it didn’t go as well as he would have liked.
He straight up rejected Colton off the bat and called it a “premature blessing”. Apparently, her father wasn’t comfortable with the pace of the show (didn’t he know what his daughter was getting into though?) and felt engagements often happen too quickly.
Unfortunately, this hesitant behavior from her father made Cassie question the entire relationship. And as we all remember, she ended up sending herself home, Colton jumped the fence, they ended up dating, and now they’ve broken up.
It was quite the whirlwind relationship and I guess we can trace it back to Papa Randolph’s refusal to give his blessing. These hometown dates are sure are stressful!
