Looking back at Trista Sutter and Alex Michel’s funniest moments during The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons Ever!

Last night’s episode was the first episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons Ever that truly felt like a valuable episode. It was truly, as Chris Harrison put it, a trip down memory lane, and it revealed how far this franchise has come, while not straying too far from its roots.

It really was a different world when this franchise started. None of the contestants even knew who the Bachelor was! Women mailed in VHS tapes for their auditions! Producers put Polaroids of them up on a wall! Perhaps most importantly, social media was not even a thing, meaning there really were no “wrong reasons” for coming on the show.

Of the many treats The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons Ever gave us, there were three hilarious moments that really stood out as worth remembering.

Shannon’s Fantasy Suite rejection

Shannon and Alex didn’t exactly seem like a match made in heaven, but they did have some nice moments, including a date that simultaneously made Shannon into Pretty Woman, Cinderella, and Snow White. That is one powerful date!

However, Shannon seemed to have more than a few reservations, most of which centered around not being able to “open up” while Alex was dating other women. Understandable. It’s an awkward situation, but Shannon took the awkwardness to a whole new level when Alex made the grievous mistake of offering her the Fantasy Suite card (actually, I think it said deluxe suite?) Shannon actually said, “I was just thinking how funny it would have been if you had pulled out the Alex and Amanda card or the Alex and Trista card.”

Hahaha. Why say this? Also, it 100% wasn’t Alex who was keeping track of those cards. If that had actually happened, a producer probably would have been fired.

In any case, it was truly entertaining watching Alex watch Shannon confront him over the fact that there would be three Fantasy Suite cards. The only response he could muster was, “Now maybe you seem a little mad at me” while smiling up at her from the couch. Hysterical.

These cards are so expected on current seasons that nobody is remotely surprised to receive one. It was almost surreal to see a contestant place so much blame on the Bachelor for just going along with the game they’re all a part of.
