The Bachelor Nation franchise lives on for another year!
Huzzah! The Bachelor Nation franchise has made it through the ABC renewal process! I mean, are we surprised though? Of all their shows, this franchise has to have the biggest fan following across the board. Have we heard of any other fanbase that goes out of their way to have watch parties the way Bachelor Nation does?
While I’m not surprised by the renewal, I am intrigued by it considering the current production halt shows have been under. Obviously, things are changing now, and sooner rather than later, production is going to pick back up once again.
But boy, will it be different! Will all the contestants wear masks moving forward? And is fantasy suites even going to be a thing? I can’t imagine how they are going to tackle this one. But it does bring up another question.
How will these changes affect the “usual” airdates that the Bachelor Nation shows usually adhere to?
Over the years, the franchise has had a pretty straight-forward premiere slot for its shows, with The Bachelor kicking off the year in January, followed by The Bachelorette in May, and finally, Bachelor in Paradise in the summer slot.
With all these recent changes, the timeline has been thrown off significantly. We likely won’t get BiP this summer because The Bachelorette hasn’t even filmed yet, which means we’ll probably have to wait until next year for a new season.
This is all hypothetical, of course, because it is all contingent on when production can officially begin. Once the ball gets rolling, I’m sure ABC and the Bachelor team will be working furiously to play catch-up the best they can.
If that’s the case, then we just might be getting the 25th season of The Bachelor around the time we usually do.
It should be pointed out that there was no mention of the franchise’s latest endeavor, Listen to Your Heart, so it remains a mystery if they will be doing a second season. I have a feeling that is going to be a hard no, but hey, maybe they’re not thinking that far ahead just yet. There’s also the senior citizen version they were going to do, but that may be very unlikely at this point. Bummer.
In any case, whenever the renewed shows do inevitably air, I think it’s safe to say that Bachelor Nation is relieved that our favorite and most dramatic shows live on to see another year. But I think I speak for all of us when I say we are ecstatic for the retrospective series that is set to premiere on June 8th.
We may not have a new season of shows to look forward to just yet, but we’re about to relive some of the franchise’s most iconic moments–and who doesn’t want that?! Raise your hand high up in the air if you’re ready to go back in time and see Ben Higgins fall in love with two women during his time as the Bachelor.
Hooray for the Bachelor Nation shows being renewed!
