Wedding bells won’t be ringing anytime soon for Becca Kufrin and Garret Yrigoyen!

Becca Kufrin has some news regarding her and Garret Yrigoyen, er lack thereof. While on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Kufrin opened up about the fact that they “literally have zero wedding plans right now.” So, sorry Bachelor Nation, you’ll have to hang on a bit longer before you’ll see Becca Kufrin walking down the aisle.

But while they’re not putting pressure on themselves, this hasn’t stopped the world from putting pressure on them. In this day and age, we know how social media, outlets, and the fandom can be. Naturally, Kufrin claims she went on the show to find love, get engaged, and get married. And as such, she understands the curiosity.

And because of the platform she put herself on, it’s only natural that people will constantly inquire about the next step. But still, I can’t imagine it’s easy, and it must be frustrating to constantly answer questions and defend her decisions.

"I went on the show to find somebody to get engaged to eventually get married, so I understand that that’s why people always ask and they’re interested… If post a picture of Garrett and I, the only comments I feel like we get are, ‘Oh, my gosh, have babies right now.’ Or, ‘Oh, my gosh, when’s the wedding?’ There’s more to our relationship than that, but again, it’s because we put ourselves out there in that regard."

While speaking to E! News, Kufrin spoke about how social media plays a role in their relationship. Case in point? When she showed up solo to Chris Randone and Krystal Nielson’s wedding. The rumor mill began churning, and for no such reason. Yikes, I can’t even begin to imagine.

"I think, as great as social media can be, it also I think can be a really negative space. There’s so much bullying going on and so much negativity. I’ve learned firsthand…just how quick people are to judge."

I couldn’t have said that better myself. It’s tough to ignore what people are saying on social media, and it’s hard not to let it get to you. Whether or not you’re a celebrity, this is something you’re privy to. Having to constantly answer for your daily outings, decisions, and the like can’t be easy, and it’s something Becca Kufrin knows all too well. Especially when it comes to her relationship with Yrigoyen.

As Kufrin pointed out, not having their phones while on The Bachelorette was the best thing that could have happened. There’s no obsession with checking in with the world or refreshing your social media every two seconds. The contestants were just there and present in the moment, with zero distractions.

While Kufrin and Yrigoyen have no such plans to tie the knot as of yet, it doesn’t mean there isn’t more to their relationship. Whenever their special day arrives, Bachelor Nation will be there to celebrate alongside them. Until then, we’ll let them enjoy their relationship and journey–they deserve at least that!
