Let’s talk about Reality Steve, shall we?

Reality Steve. If you’re a Bachelor Nation fan, then you know all about this infamous legend that roams about the internet day in and day out with spoilers. He’s very famous, in fact, because of this very reason–putting up spoilers about each and every Bachelor Nation show. How does he do it? Does he know someone on the inside? Is he secretly working for ABC?

So, first and foremost, his real name is Stephen Carbone (as reported by Cosmopolitan). He got his start in sports radio, and somehow ended up in reality television spoiling. Not sure how that works, but hey, weirder things have happened.

Reality Steve got sucked into this particular world in a very funny way. What initially started off as silly emails to his friends about the show Joe Millionaire, turned into something bigger. His emails were forwarded onwards for their sheer hilarity, everyone couldn’t get enough of them.

That’s how his website, RealitySteve.com, came to be. Fast forward to season 13 of The Bachelor, and that’s when he got involved with the franchise, and the rest went on to be history. Basically, around August 2011, Steve decided that spoiling was the career path for him, and he bid farewell to his job at the time.

Side note: As of 2015, Reality Steve reported he was making a whopping six-figure salary from all of this. SIX FIGURES?! I think maybe we’re all missing something here because writing spoilers about a reality show and making that much money sounds like the life.

Given that he literally spoils things left and right ahead of the official episodes airing, we can’t help but wonder–what does ABC think about this? Well, they’ve attempted to sue him twice, but it didn’t amount to anything. And Reality Steve is still out here doing his thing, no shame.

Does anyone else find this shocking? I mean, how does he do it! Apparently, his network has a far reach, and whenever people provide him with information, it’s the real deal. During an interview with Reality Blurred, our dear ‘ol Reality Steve shared how he gets his information.

"I’m only as good as what I’m told. I do have confidence in a lot of sources…I’ve never called a hotel in my life for this show. I’ve never had to; I probably never will."

Basically, he gets his tidbits from reliable outside sources and then he spends time putting together all the pieces until he has something coherent to share. This, of course, involves a lot of social media deep diving. It’s essentially an art form at this point.

Color us impressed, Reality Steve.
