Tyler Cameron finally tells us why he wasn’t the next Bachelor

So this is why Tyler Cameron wasn’t the next Bachelor!

Tyler Cameron has been making the headlines lately for more than just his incredibly dashing good looks. As I’m sure you’re all aware, rumors have been circulating that this Bachelorette alum is dating Gigi Hadid. Nothing official has been confirmed by either of them, so the verdict is still out on that one. But come on, he went to the Netherlands with her. How long can they fool us for?

Bachelor Nation was very curious to learn who the next Bachelor would be, and for a while, Tyler C. was one of the top contenders alongside Peter Weber and Mike Johnson. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he finally gave us some details on why he wasn’t the eventual choice.

And no, according to him, it wasn’t exactly because he was dating someone. Although, he did say “Yeah, you shouldn’t go on the show if you have a girlfriend”, when asked about why he declined the offer. But that’s not it. It turns out his father was feeling sick again, and it just didn’t feel like the right time for him to commit to something so big.

"It was something we talked about, but where I was at in my life, I just didn’t think it was where I wanted to be. My heart wasn’t in it, my dad was really sick again, and I was nervous and scared. I sat on it, thought about it, and…my heart wasn’t it."

I respect that. The man has his priorities straight! Ugh, could Tyler Cameron be more perfect?

Oh, and by the way, Cameron’s dad is doing much better now.

Entertainment Tonight really wanted to take advantage of the fact they were talking to Tyler C. so naturally, his dating life came up. After making the comment I mentioned above, he was asked if he has a girlfriend. What better time to deny you’re dating the fabulous Gigi Hadid?!

His response was that no he isn’t dating anyone, but he wasn’t ready to invest that much time into dating 30 women at once so it simply didn’t make sense. Was that a good cover-up or does he mean it? Ugh, I wish we could find out!

However, Cameron did say this during the same interview when asked point-blank about the deal with Gigi Hadid. And I have to admit that if it’s true, it’s breaking my heart.

"I mean…that’s just where we’re at. Our relationship doesn’t need to be public. She’s good people, she’s an amazing person, and we’re just keeping it friendly."
