What are Demi Burnett’s thoughts on Derek Peth being the next Bachelor?

Bachelor Nation is reeling over the idea that Derek Peth should be the next Bachelor. After Demi Burnett broke up with him to be with Kristian Haggerty on Bachelor in Paradise, most people are in support of Peth taking the title next. But what are Burnett’s thoughts on the matter?

While speaking to Lauren Zima of Entertainment Tonight, Burnett revealed that she would be very supportive of Peth if he was indeed selected to be the next Bachelor. All she wants is for him to be happy, and if this will be a means to achieve that goal, then she’s all for it.

She did, however, throw in a disclaimer while voicing her support. She doesn’t exactly want to campaign or advocate for just him. She has other friends within the franchise who may want this opportunity as well. But in either case, she’d be happy for Peth if it came down to it.

"I will support him whatever he wants to do. I just want him to be happy. [But] I wouldn’t want to campaign [for him], because what if some of my other friends want the gig too?"

For those who tuned in to the most recent episode of Bachelor in Paradise, it was extremely heartbreaking to see Peth’s heart get broken. But what was more emotional for a lot of us was the fact that he was so darn supportive of Demi’s decision.

He didn’t make her feel bad, he didn’t lash out on her, and he took it all in stride given the circumstances. This is precisely why the world around him is cheering him on and wishing for his happiness. If there’s ever been a guy who deserves the world, it’s Derek Peth.

Also being rumored as potential contenders are Mike Johnson and Pete Weber (both from Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette). For a while, many were rooting for Mike, and many still are. Even Pete is a huge favorite amongst the fans. But I don’t know, something tells me it’s looking like it’s going to Peth.

He has the support of Bachelor and Demi Burnett, so it’s only a formality at this point.
