Mike who? It’s all about Derek Peth for the next Bachelor!

The days of rooting for Mike Johnson may be behind us because there’s a new potential Bachelor in town–Derek Peth.

Bachelor Nation, last night’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise was something else, wasn’t it? Not only did it bring forth the first same-sex couple ever for the franchise, but it also made us realize there may be another contender for the next Bachelor.

Some may not agree with me, and that’s okay because Mike Johnson is a spectacular choice. However, we don’t know how this season of BiP will end for him, and if he has found love, he’ll be out of the running anyway. Derek Peth, on the other hand, deserves the world after what happened in Paradise.

You see, he was dating Demi Burnett and then she revealed that she had been dating a woman back at home. Her feelings never subsided and at some point, they got strong enough to where she sat down with Chris Harrison to figure out a game plan. So what did the show do? Bring in Demi’s girl, of course!

The manner in which Derek handled not only last night, but the entire ordeal is unlike anything many of us have ever seen before. He was calm, collect, understanding, empathetic, and just so freaking kind. We honestly don’t deserve such a human being.

The world noticed Peth’s selfless actions and it didn’t take long for everyone to realize he deserves to be the next Bachelor more than anyone that has been in the running so far (Mike Johnson, Peter Weber). Now, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Mike Johnson but after last night, I have definitely switched to Team Derek for the next Bachelor.
