Another feud is bubbling up behind the scenes of The Bachelorette. Read on to learn why Kelly Ripa and Ellen Pompeo are arguing with Chris Harrison.
We’re only one episode into this season of The Bachelorette, but the drama behind the scenes is already so unreal. In case you missed it, popular talk show host Kelly Ripa recently made comments about how she considered the series “disgusting” (read all the details here). Now she, Bachelorette creator Mike Fleiss, host Chris Harrison and even more celebrities are in a full-on feud.
After Kelly Ripa’s initial comments on her own TV show, Chris Harrison cheekily took to Twitter to call her out.
While Chris Harrison is no stranger to drama (he does handle The Bachelorette mansion every week, after all), it is a little unusual to see him calling Ripa out so directly. It was actually a pretty clever response to her shade, too, considering it served as a sort of call to Bachelor Nation to get people to defend the beloved series.
Next, Mike Fleiss took to his own Twitter account, telling Ripa that his show “pays her salary.”
When Hannah Brown, the new Bachelorette, made an appearance this morning on Ripa’s show Live with Kelly and Ryan, Ripa didn’t cave to Fleiss’ comment. Instead, she poked fun at the situation by telling Hannah, “If you blink twice, I will get you out of here.”
Perhaps this would have squanched the feud, had it not been for celebrity Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy) also jumping in on Twitter with a series of angry comments.
There’s quite a bit of crossover between fans of Grey’s Anatomy and fans of The Bachelorette, so it’s been very interesting to see how members of Bachelor Nation have been sort of forced to pick sides. The situation is deeply reminiscent of last Bachelor season’s drama between Mike Fleiss and Khloe Kardashian, which occurred after Fleiss suggested that Khloe could lead The Bachelorette.
So who’s in the right here? We’ll keep you posted as the Ripa/Pompeo/Harrison/Fleiss drama continues.
