The Bachelorette premiere: Ranking the top 5 memorable episode moments
5. Hannah gets the news that she’s Bachelorette
You may like Hannah Brown’s personality or you may not, but it’s next to impossible to argue that she is fake. She is unapologetically herself, a quality we’ve seen her demonstrate over and over again. From her Hannah Beast roar to her awkward toasts (or lack thereof), she just does things her way.
This was apparent all over again when Chris Harrison told her that she was going to be the Bachelorette. We actually got to see her taking the phone call where he gave her the news, and her reaction was the definition of pure. She was hopeful, she was excited, she was overwhelmed all at once. She even had tears in her eyes, which really pulled at our heartstrings. It was so apparent that she just really wants true love and that this was the exciting way she might just get her chance at it.
If this tender opening moment is any indication of how she’ll be all season, we’re in for a really beautiful story. Last season on The Bachelor, Colton’s story often felt forced as the series leaned hard into his virginity storyline. This season it looks like we’re being spared that and instead getting a Bachelorette who really knows what she wants and how to get it.
