The Bachelor’s Hannah Godwin wishes fans would stop pressuring her

THE BACHELOR - "2303" - ColtonÕs search for love starts with laughs, surprises and intense face-offs between the women. The first date of the season has eight hopeful bachelorettes sharing personal stories about their "firsts" - with Colton and a live audience Ð and coached by happily married masters of comedy Megan Mullally ("Will & Grace") and Nick Offerman ("Parks and Recreation"). Hannah B. scores the first one-on-one date on her birthday, including dinner on The Queen Mary. Twelve eager women attend "Camp Bachelor" with a decidedly unorthodox camp counselor, actor and comedian Billy Eichner, who oversees three challenging contests. However, some ill-timed drama the night of the rose ceremony might lead to certain ladies being left without a rose on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, JAN. 14 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network. With the premiere of Bachelor in Paradise inching ever closer, fan favorite contestant Hannah Godwin calls for the fanbase to stop pressuring competitors.

Oops, our bad! Sounds like the fanbase, which definitely includes us, is putting a little too much pressure on Bachelor alum Hannah Godwin these days. She recently opened up on the Mouthing Off podcast about how fan expectations are putting her in a bit of a tight spot romantically.

Her comments, specifically, address her relationship (or current lack thereof) with Bachelorette alum/fan favorite contestant Blake Horstmann. After Hannah made some comments to Us Weekly about how she’d like to see Blake on the beaches of Paradise, fans went a little cuckoo. They began to tweet about the pairing and actively campaign to see both contestants on Bachelor in Paradise.

According to Hannah Godwin, it’s exactly this kind of push that is making things hard on her before she ever even gets to Mexico.

"People are putting so much pressure on it! I don’t want to put too much pressure. We were both in a spot where we were so close and I don’t want either of us to have pressure going into something."

She makes a good point. Are we setting our favorite contestants up for failure by expecting too much from them right away? I can’t help but think back to last Bachelor in Paradise, which saw fans calling out Colton Underwood when he wouldn’t immediately commit to Tia Booth.

All that being said, it’s fun to speculate on who will get together on Paradise. So sorry, Hannah Godwin, but fans will most likely continue to do this regardless of your publicized wishes. With Bachelor in Paradise getting an early premiere date this year, hopefully that will do something to make the masses calm down sooner rather than later. Still, we’ve got at least a full three months to lose our minds in the meantime.

What do you think, Bachelor Nation? Should we back off and leave Hannah Godwin and Blake Horstmann alone? Or did they sign up for some of this?
