The Bachelorette Hannah Brown is already making her way through the talk show circuit. Here’s what we learned from her recent appearance on Ellen.

Did you catch Hannah Brown when she appeared on Ellen? She was as awkward and adorable as ever! The Bachelorette took some time to tease her new season by both commenting on the past and looking forward to the future. Here are the biggest things we learned from her stellar interview.

Why she was cast

Hannah Brown credits “being real” as the reason she was cast as the Bachelorette. We tend to believe her; it would be hard to believe that she was holding anything back in light of how we saw her straight up eating bugs and wearing leeches during Colton Underwood’s season of the show.

We think she’ll keep up with that honesty on her season of The Bachelorette. She’s not a personality that everyone will like but, really, when has there ever been a season that the series lead was universally loved?

No blame for Colton

Hannah says her heart “broke for Colton” even though he broke her heart not too long before that infamous Cassie drama. It’s worth noting that Hannah wasn’t one of Colton’s Final Four women, which gives her a little distance from the relationship. As the Bachelorette is usually chosen from those final contenders, this will definitely indicate a change of pace for her season. It could be pretty refreshing to see a new Bachelorette coming into her show without quite so much baggage.

No more drama

When asked if she knew whether Cassie would be “the one” at the end for Colton, Hannah claims that she didn’t really ever know for sure. She says that she “tried to stay in her own lane” through the season. This is probably the wisest course of action, especially considering that getting involved in other girls’ drama was something that got a few of the contestants in trouble toward the end of the season (ahem, Tayshia and Kirpa).

What does she want?

So what is the Bachelorette looking for in a man? Hannah Brown says she wants someone good looking, with a good heart. Someone kind and strong. “I want at the end of this to know that they know me. . . not just some version of myself that I packaged together.” She expects the same in return.

Sounds to us like Hannah has a pretty good head on her shoulders. She seems to be a good fit for the new season and (hopefully) she’ll even grow on her haters a bit.
