Where did you stand on the subject of last night’s fight? Alum Carly Waddell has some feelings about contestants who are vying to become the Bachelorette.

Last night saw quite the fight featuring Tayshia and Kirpa vs. Cassie and Caelynn. After former contestant Katie warned Colton that some of the women weren’t on the show “for the right reasons,” Team Tayshia and Kirpa had no reservations in sharing with the Bach that they thought best friends Cassie and Caelynn had higher aspirations to become the Bachelorette.

Even though Tayshia admitted later that she hadn’t heard the other girls say those exact words outright, it still made us question Cassie and Caelynn’s motivations. And we, the fans, weren’t the only ones expressing some doubts!

Twitter was a firestorm of opinions on the subject and one thread stood out. Carly Waddell, a notable alum from both The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise shared this juicy tidbit:

It doesn’t take a genius to know that there are going to be some rotten apples in each season. Surely there are girls who are really only on the show as a ploy to get on The Bachelorette or BiP. Heck, there’s enough of a history of this that we even wrote up this theory about fan favorite Elsye!

But to hear it confirmed outright from a former contestant. . . well that’s something different entirely. Carly is a pretty darn trustworthy source for Bachelor Nation, so we believe her when she says that she heard girls (that’s multiple, not just one woman!) talking about being the next Bachelorette.

This means it’s entirely possible that Cassie and Caelynn dreamed about the possibility together. And, frankly, judging by those big reactions they had to both Katie’s exit announcement and getting called out by Kirpa and Tayshia, we’re inclined to believe that they’ve probably mused about the subject at least once.

This isn’t to say that Cassie and Caelynn are evil or anything. They’re still highly likeable characters and we wouldn’t blame them if The Bachelorette came up once or twice, since there’s literally nothing to do behind the scenes except for talk talk talk. Still, we hope they’re there for the right reasons. We don’t want to see Colton get his heart broken again.
