The much anticipated season 13 of ‘The Bachelorette’ will feature the franchise’s first black Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay.
Even though this season started a bit prematurely, we will still have to wait a few months for the real premiere. The newest season of The Bachelorette will begin on May 22nd.
Although the new season is still a while away, we did get a small taste of what we can look forward to this season. DuringThe Bachelor: After the Final Rose finale show, Rachel got a surprise when Chris Harrison told her she would be meeting some of the guys live.
During her introduction to the four guys, there was some awkwardness, but they all seemed very nice and well-suited to Rachel. There was a 50/50 split with two white men, and two black men. Hopefully this is an early indicator of an overall more diverse cast for Rachel, and for the franchise moving forward.
Rachel seems like the type of Bachelorette who is genuine about her approach to finding a partner. It doesn’t seem that she is in this for the wrong reasons, or that she just wants fame. Her connection with Nick seemed deep and genuine, and it is sad that it didn’t work out. But that means that she now has the opportunity to choose for herself, instead of fighting 30 other women to be picked.
It’s going to be an exciting journey for her, and for other women who relate to Rachel in a way they’ve never been able to relate to the other 12 Bachelorettes. As a strong, career-driven women she is taking this opportunity and hoping to find a man who will enhance her life.
Rachel’s real journey will begin airing on ABC on May 22nd at 8 p.m. ET. Be sure to tune in so you can meet the rest of the men who will be vying for her heart.
