30. Condoms Aren’t Provided In The Fantasy Suite

Although sex was rarely talked about openly before Kaitlin and Nick, there’s always been the assumption that the Bachelor and his potentials are getting it on. They are humans, after all. But if folks are making the Fantasy Suite rock, they have to provide their own birth control methods because they don’t provide them in the rooms.

Courtney Robinson, spills about her night in the Fantasy Suite with Ben Flajnik. She says in her tell-all book, I Didn’t Come Here To Make Friends: Confessions Of A Reality Show Villain  that condoms were noticeably absent from the well appointed chateau the producers rented for them.

Courtney chalks it up to all the preplanning, saying, “Everyone gets tested before the show and I was on the pill. Maybe we were a little bit too in the moment. If I had known I was the last one [to get a fantasy suite date], I would have definitely thought about it more.”

Aside from the yuck factor of this revelation, it just doesn’t seem very practical. Can you imagine what would happen if one of the contestants turned up pregnant? That would be an entirely different kind of show. Producers are so meticulous in every other aspect of planning for these dates, it seems a grievous oversite to not offer protection for what they know is bound to happen.
