The next Bachelorette hasn't been picked yet (but ABC has narrowed it down to 2 choices)

With Joey Graziadei's season of The Bachelor coming to a close, it will soon be time for ABC to name a new Bachelorette and the network has a lot of amazing selections to choose from.

Joey's season has been full of amazing women who Bachelor Nation has fallen in love with. So it should come as little surprise to know that ABC is expected to select someone from the current season of The Bachelor to lead the next season of The Bachelorette. This has long been a tradition for the franchise with only a few rare exceptions along the way when the network tapped someone not from the latest season of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette to lead the next season of its sister series.

ABC might not be ready to announce the next Bachelorette just yet, but rumor has it they've already narrowed things down to two candidates and Bachelor Nation also has some thoughts.

It goes without saying that there are spoilers ahead regarding Joey’s winner so if you’re looking to avoid having the end of the season ruined, know that there are spoilers coming ahead! 

Fans want Maria Georgas to be the next Bachelorette 

Needless to say, after her elimination at hometowns, Maria Georgas has emerged as the fan-favorite among Bachelor Nation to become the next Bachelorette and we understand why! 

Over the course of Joey’s season, Maria found herself at the center of a lot of drama but she always rose above things. Even when she began to grow uncertain about the process and struggled with seeing Joey with other women, she expressed these concerns without tearing down the other women or devaluing the connections they had been forming with Joey as well. Maria is a true girls girl and Bachelor Nation loves this about her. 

It’s why they hoped to see Maria win the season and end up with Joey, and why the fans immediately began begging ABC to select Maria as the next Bachelorette. 

Well, it sounds like ABC is taking note but they’re also entertaining a second contender for the next Bachelorette.

ABC is eyeing Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas for The Bachelorette 

Because Maria was eliminated at hometowns fans have had the chance to start campaigning early for her to become the next Bachelorette. Maria is indeed in the race to become the next Bachelorette, but so is another fan-favorite who just so happens to make it to Joey’s final two: Daisy Kent! 

All season long, Daisy has been a favorite among fans, and for a good portion of the season we thought Daisy was going to be who Joey ended up with this season. She was who Reality Steve originally reported won the season but we’ve since learned Daisy is Joey’s runner-up and that he ends up with Kelsey Anderson instead.

With Daisy not winning, the rumor is that she is one of ABC’s top choices for the next Bachelorette, which makes total sense.

We fell in love with Daisy from the start and had been rooting for all season long. Knowing she does not win, this seems to suggest the show has been perhaps giving her a favorable edit in hopes of setting her up to lead the next season of The Bachelorette. 

ABC tapping Daisy as the lead would make her the first deaf lead for the franchise which would mark a major step for diversity within the leads of the franchise which we're all for. Plus, we absolutely loved Daisy and would love the chance to see her begin a journey to find love after things didn't work out with Joey on The Bachelor!

The next Bachelorette should be revealed during The Bachelor 2024 finale

While ABC hasn't been opposed to announcing the next Bachelorette before finale, it is expected that we won't learn who will lead The Bachelorette season 21 until the season finale of The Bachelor for one key reason. ABC is said to be eyeing Daisy Kent as a possible lead for the season and the network cannot announce her as the next Bachelorette until after Joey's season comes to an end.

This is because Daisy makes it to Joey's final 2, so if ABC were to go with Daisy as the next Bachelorette, they'd need to hold off on making that announcement until after Bachelor Nation sees Joey's journey come to an end. This would prevent the season's end from being spoiled due for the fans who don't follow the spoilers and therefore who don't know who Joey ends up with.

With The Bachelor finale coming on March 25, we should know who will be the next Bachelorette by the end of the month so be sured to stay tuned for updates!
