The Bachelorette Season 21, Episode 7: Best and worst moments
By Julia Wagner
This week's episode of The Bachelorette was great. So much so that I don’t even have a worst moment. Just two good moments!
1. Best moment: Jenn and Gabriella
On this week's episode of The Bachelorette, Jenn visits Marcus in Tacoma, Washington, and meets his sister and his mentor friends. She sits down for a girl chat with his sister Gabriella, and it is so completely precious.
Gabriella asks Jenn what she sees in her brother, and as Jenn struggles to explain their connection in words, she gets more and more teary-eyed, finally breaking down in tears.
Gabriella cries as well, and Jenn basically falls into her arms and the two of them cry together.
This was one of the most precious Hometown moments I’ve seen on this show. Gabriella is SO understanding and such a good listener. The show should hire her as a producer.
I’ve had my money on Devin this whole season, but this moment shook me a little bit. Could she end up choosing Marcus? Or are the tears because she’s afraid of hurting him? Unless he ends up leaving on his own. Time will tell.
2. Other best moment: Guy chat
Near the end of the episode, something unexpected happened that I’ve never seen on a season before.
Before the Rose Ceremony, the final four men meet up for beers and discuss their Hometowns!
Usually, we just get the obligatory silent wave as the contestants file into the Rose Ceremony, after which they are usually separated. This was such a great chance to see them let their guards down a little bit. We saw more of Marcus's feelings in this chat than we've seen in weeks! Bro time is powerful.
As Jeremy says, there’s an “elephant in the room” because although they’re all friends, they’re all hoping the others go home.
Hearing the men compare notes on their Hometowns was such a gift! So much more real. Whether or not this move was geared to shake up Marcus (which it did), I enjoyed it immensely!
