The Bachelorette Season 21, Episode 3: Best and worst moments
By Julia Wagner
This week on The Bachelorette...
Jenn and the Men (good band name?) gave us a great episode of The Bachelorette this week! We had the requisite male stripper date, some vulnerable moments, and some confusingly pointless drama.
Let's get to the best and worst moments of episode 3 of The Bachelorette!
Best moment: Thunder From Down Under
On the group date, Jenn and the men rendezvous with Australia’s male strippers, Love from Down Under. This is far from the first male stripper scene we’ve had on this show, but I appreciated that the men received a tutorial!
From the Body Roll to the Grip and Rip, these moves somewhat prepared the men for their performance. In the past, they were usually just told to “go strip.” Progress!
Watching Sam N’s (The Love Virgin’s) monologue brought it down slightly, but oh well. The men’s shocked reactions made up for it!
Worst moment: Aaron's exit
Oh boy.
On Aaron’s way out before the Rose Ceremony, he tells Jenn that some people in the house are “not ready” and “here for the wrong reasons.” OLDEST line in the book.
He won’t tell Jenn who he’s talking about, which makes it a pointless conversation that only seeks to make her paranoid. Jenn says that she’s confident she is a good judge of character but then proceeds to go off on the men, telling them to get out if they’re not genuine. This leads to inane fighting between the men, mostly involving Sam M.
Some men handled it well. I enjoy Devin! He made it about Jenn, and he felt like he was “meeting her all over for the first time” during her cautionary speech to the men.
Hakeem’s consistently overwhelmed expression during the fight made it all worth it. He looked like he wanted to bolt. Thank you, Hakeem, for providing some comic fodder! So sad to see you go!
