The Bachelor Week 2 spoiler recap: One-on-one date, eliminations, and more
By Diana Nosa
It's Week 2 in The Bachelor mansion and things are only just beginning for the remaining 22 women of the season. So much so that it would be a pretty bad idea to miss any second of tonight's episode!
WARNING: Major spoilers for The Bachelor season 28 episode 2 below.
Not only will we see the adorable first one-on-one date of the season, but we will also see two amazing group dates that aim to distinguish which contestants can stand out in a crowd and which can't. We'll also get to learn more about the dynamics between the women, which is definitely important in understanding who's the top dog and who's the underdog. However, above all, Bachelor Nation will learn who makes it further in this season and who, unfortunately, must say goodbye to their chance at falling in love with Joey.
Many things are in store for tonight's episode of The Bachelor season 28. Allow us to tell you everything there is to know with these juicy spoilers for the second episode of the season (via Reality Steve)!
A wedding-themed group date is in order!
As we know, the ladies of The Bachelor must always show that they have a sense of humor. Tonight, they're doing that by writing unique wedding speeches that have a splash of roast in them. After all, everyone loves a funny wedding toast!
Needless to say, every lady won't be able to walk down the aisle dressed in the most gorgeous wedding dresses we've ever seen.
Here are the nine contestants who get dressed to the nines and get to see Joey looking handsome in his tuxedo:
- Erika Cardenas
- Evalin Clark
- Jess Edwards
- Maria Georgas
- Lauren Hollinger
- Rachel Nance
- Kelsey Toussant
- Taylor Wiens
- Lexi Young
Jessica Edwards is the one person who stood out in this group date, which is why she receives the first group date rose of the season. But she's not the only one receiving some special treatment!
Daisy Kent and Joey Graziadei embark on their first 1-on-1 date
After hitting it off, Daisy Kent and Joey Graziadei are feeling very lovey-dovey! What better way to show each other affection than by going on a lovely one-on-one date?!
Our first one-on-one date of season 28 takes place in Redondo Beach, California. Here, Daisy and Joey have a fun time dancing the night away at the BeachLife Ranch Festival. But when they aren't keeping up with all the events of the special festival, they're becoming more and more vulnerable with each other, sharing things that can only strengthen the bond between them.
The second group date gets a little messy...literally!
Whereas the first nine women get to dress pretty and walk down the aisle to see their handsome man, the other 10 are tasked with getting him stained with all of the colors of the rainbow with a messy game of paintball.
Here's who participates:
- Madina Alam
- Kelsey Anderson
- Katelyn DeBacker
- Edwina Dorbor
- Marlena Haddad
- Allison Hollinger
- Chrissa Perez
- Starr Skyler
- Jenn Tran
- Autumn Waggoner
(Lea Cayanan and Sydney Gordon sit out on all the dates of Week 2, sadly.)
Although the person who wins paintball is usually decided by the party, this time, two former contestants — Demi Burnett and Jubilee Sharpe — decide who deserves the rose from this particular group date. However, neither of the two can come to an agreement on who to pick, so they leave it to chance, drawing names instead.
Looks like the universe is shining pretty nicely on Edwina Dorbor because she is the recipient of the second group date rose.
Three people are absolutely safe from elimination tonight. Yet, there are some people who already aren't too happy about how things are unfolding. Specifically, Lauren Hollinger.
A sibling rivalry almost shakes up the season
Despite a pretty interesting week full of fun and good humor, Lauren Hollinger, sister of Allison, doesn't really see Joey as the match for her, especially with how much attention the other women are getting. So, she takes it upon herself to self-eliminate in hopes of seeing Allison develop her relationship with Joey further.
Lauren's selflessness helps avoid a really bad sibling feud because if they both came to like Joey a lot, that would definitely be an awkward conversation to have at family dinner.
Nonetheless, Lauren isn't the only one saying goodbye to season 28, as Erika Cardenas, Marlena Haddad, and Taylor Weins all winded up having their journey cut short in week 2 during the rose ceremony.
With all of Week 2's eliminations, we are now down to 18 amazing women left going into Week 3. Who will rise above? And who will end up going home the next week? We'll find out soon enough! Until then, head to ABC tonight, Jan. 29, at 8:00 p.m. ET to catch a brand-new episode of The Bachelor season 28!
