The Bachelor episodes aren't as long as you might be thinking
By Cody Schultz
A new season of The Bachelor is officially underway with Joey Graziadei stepping into the lead role hoping to find love.
Right from the start, Joey has wowed the fans at home becoming one of Bachelor Nation's favorite Bachelor leads in years. Joey is everything fans have been hoping for: charming, respectful, kind, likable, good-looking, and, most importantly a genuinely good guy -- a stark change from some of the recent leads the show has tapped.
Fans are loving the chance to get to know Joey even better and can't get enough of ABC's new Bachelor, but it seems there has been a lot of confusion lately regarding the runtime for episodes.
The Bachelor episodes are 2-hours long most weeks
While new episodes of The Bachelor are longer than the average episode of The Golden Bachelor, the episodes actually aren't as long as you'd think. Each standard episode of The Bachelor season 28 is 2-hours with commercials included which is the usual length of an episode of The Bachelor.
Joey's episode just might seem longer because his season is the first season to air after The Golden Bachelor which aired shorter episodes. Most episodes of The Golden Bachelor were only an hour in length meaning they were half as long as the normal episode of The Bachelor.
Now, if you happen to be watching The Bachelor on Hulu rather than live on ABC, you'll be able to save some time if you have the no-ads plan. This is because, without commercials, the standard episode of The Bachelor is roughly an hour and 25 minutes long.
ABC does air longer episodes of The Bachelor on occasion
Now there are occasions on which ABC will air longer episodes of The Bachelor and we expect that there will be at least one three-hour episode sometime this season. Typically, the season finale is a three-hour episode but there are times when ABC will air a longer episode randomly during the season or even to kick off a season with the season premiere.
We'll see how many extended episodes ABC chooses to air this season, but for the most part we should be in for mostly 2-hour episodes across Joey's season of The Bachelor!
