The Bachelor episode 6 spoiler recap: One woman self-eliminates as 3 others get eliminated
By Cody Schultz
We're nearing the halfway point in The Bachelor season 28 and Joey's group of women is getting smaller and smaller with each passing episode!
Heading into tonight's new episode, only 10 women remain in the mix, vying for Joey's affection in hopes of being the person he walks away with at the end of the season. We've seen Joey starting to form some genuine connections with the remaining women over the course of the first several episodes of the season and tonight is about to see Joey getting more serious than ever before as he continues his journey as The Bachelor.
Tonight, Joey and his final 10 women head to Montreal, Canada where Joey begins to feel the pressure of hometowns inching closer. With nerves running high for all, Joey kicks off the week in Montreal by sharing his personal worries with the women in hopes that his own honesty and transparency will open the door for the women to take his lead and encourage them to open up more during the time they share.
Over the course of the episode ahead, Joey will have three dates including a pair of 1-on-1 dates and a group date with each giving him the chance to further build upon the connections he's begun forming with the remaining women. The dates will lead up to what ABC promises will be the most emotional rose ceremony of the season -- but the eliminations are going to begin coming before we even reach the rose ceremony this week!
Warning The Bachelor season 28 episode 6 spoilers ahead
Lexi Young self-eliminates on The Bachelor in episode 6
Episode 6 will bring the second self-elimination of the season as Lexi Young chooses to walk away from the show in an unexpected twist! According to Realty Steve, Lexi chooses to leave the show as she feels her and Joey’s timelines for marriage and wanting kids don’t align.
Lexi’s elimination comes on the heels of her first 1-on-1 date with Joey in episode 4 in which the pair enjoyed a day out together in Malta. During the date, Lexi opened up to Joey about her experience with endometriosis, explaining that she might not be able to have children. In the conversation, Lexi revealed that her former boyfriend broke up with her after he learned of her experience and she expressed that she felt a strong calling to be a mother.
Joey was grateful that Lexi felt comfortable sharing her story with him and assured her that he wasn’t going to walk away, showing support for her during the date and giving her a rose.
It seemed like Lexi would be a favorite to make it to the end, but her decision to self-eliminate in the episode hints that perhaps we didn’t see the full picture and that the divide in when she wants to start a family and when Joey wants to start a family might have been too big to overcome leading to her decision to leave the show before the rose ceremony.
Who goes home on The Bachelor tonight (Feb. 19, 2024)
The sixth episode of The Bachelor will bring about another wave of eliminations with four women set to go home during the course of the episode, leaving just six women in the competition by the end of the episode!
In episode 6, Lexi Young will self-eliminate from the show before the rose ceremony and she's not the only woman going home before the rose ceremony. According to Reality Steve's episode 6 spoilers, Jess Edwards will be sent home during the group date meaning we'll have two eliminations before the actual rose ceremony.
At the episode 6 rose ceremony, we'll see two more women sent home as Joey eliminates Katelyn DeBacker and Lea Cayanan. Lea's elimination comes after she started stirring the pot at the house and causing drama with Maria, so it's not too surprising to hear that she's going home tonight as Joey clearly has formed a connection with Maria and feels protective of her.
To recap, the four women going home in episode 6 are Lexi Young, Jess Edwards, Katelyn DeBacker, and Lea Cayanan.
The Bachelor episode 6 date spoilers
During episode 6, Joey will go on three total dates including a group date and two 1-on-1 dates.
Maria Georgas will be getting the season’s Pretty Woman date, with Joey taking Maria around town for a day of shopping that ends with her getting a rose. Our other 1-on-1 date of the night goes to Kelsey Toussant. Details regarding Kelsey’s date are scarce, but we do know Kelsey will be getting a rose and makes it into Joey’s Final 6!
As for the group date, Daisy, Jenn, Jessica, Katelyn, Kelsey A., Lea, Lexi, and Rachel are all invited to the group date which is a scavenger hunt around Old Montreal and includes some hockey as well.
