Former Bachelor Colton Underwood and his husband are expecting their first child

Congratulations are in order for former Bachelor Colton Underwood and his husband, Jordan Brown! After going through their own fertility journey, the husband duo has announced that they are expecting their first child.
As reported by PEOPLE, Underwood and Brown's bundle of joy is expected to arrive in early October. The Bachelor alum has been very candid about his and Brown's path to becoming parents, particularly on his podcast, Daddyhood.
More on what Underwood had to say about this very exciting new chapter in his and Brown's life below!
Colton Underwood and Jordan Brown are going to be parents!
Underwood spoke to PEOPLE about how he and Brown just celebrated their first wedding anniversary, and now they are prepping to be dads together.
“That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship. We both wanted to be dads,” said Underwood. “But it's been such an incredible experience for us to go through this together, and I cannot wait to watch Jordan become a dad.”
As Underwood shared earlier this year, he and Brown decided to have embryos made and frozen in the hopes of using a surrogate to carry their child. After some testing with the surrogate and the embryos ready to go, both Underwood and Brown learned that their journey had resulted in a success.
And now, come October, they will be dads together!
One of the things Underwood was really honest about about this journey was that he learned his sperm were not viable while his husband's were. While it wasn't a great feeling, according to Underwood, the plan came together because of the love and support of his husband.
Underwood and Brown's surrogacy journey began about two years ago, and it has led them to this point, and we couldn't be happier!
What makes this moment so beautiful is that Underwood and Brown have become quite close to the woman carrying their child. In fact, not just her, but her husband and her child, which is wonderful.
“We're very protective over her. We've been to every single doctor's appointment. Her family's come over to the house for dinner. She's an incredible human being,” Underwood shared. "Family building isn't always black and white, so knowing that there's a percentage of loss and knowing that there's a percentage of complications that can happen is scary."
But despite all the nerves, Underwood and Brown are ready for fatherhood and to welcome their son in October. Congratulations Colton and Jordan--we are so happy for you!
