Jenn Tran is officially the next Bachelorette! Formerly known as one of the 32 contestants on Joey Graziadei's season of The Bachelor, Jenn is now a history-making lead for The Bachelorette Season 21.

Fans were thrown for a loop as it was all but assumed that the next lead would either be Maria Georgas or runner-up Daisy Kent. Even Reality Steve weighed in on this but suffice to say, we are all fairly shocked at the network's choice.

With Jenn as the next Bachelorette, she is making history as the franchise's first-ever Asian-American lead. It is quite a feat for the network, which has come under fire for not being as diverse in its lead selections. This really makes a positive push in that direction!

Now that we know who the next Bachelorette is, fans may be wondering--who is Jenn? Where is she from? What will she be like as the lead? We discuss all that and more below!

Welcome, Jenn Tran to the world of Bachelor Nation!

Jenn is a 26-year-old Vietnamese-American PA (Physician's Assistant) student from Miami, Florida. How exactly is that going to work out for her? Does she take a sabbatical from her studies to pursue love? I guess we will find out soon enough.

When Jenn walked out during the 'After the Final Rose' special, it was clear how excited she is to go on this journey. It means a lot, especially as a history-making Bachelorette! When asked what it feels like to be a part of such history, Tran stated it feels "honestly incredible".

She also went on to say, "Growing up, I've always wanted to see Asian representation on TV. And I feel like it was really sparse. Any time Asians were in the media, it was to fill a supporting character role, to fulfill some sort of stereotype, and I felt really boxed in by that because I was like, 'I don't see myself on screen. I don't see myself as a main character.' "And now to be here today standing in this position being like, 'I am going to lead my own love story. I am going to be the main character to my story,' I just can't help but think about how many people I'm inspiring and how many lives I'm changing."

It truly is such a big moment for the franchise, and one that we are all excited to see play out once Jenn's journey as the Bachelorette begins.

In 2017, ABC cast its first-ever African-American Bachelorette with Rachel Lindsay and then its first-ever African-American Bachelor in 2021 with Matt James. Tran's casting as the lead continues the mission to be diverse.

When was Jenn Tran eliminated from The Bachelor Season 28?

During the season's 7th episode, right before hometowns, Tran was sent home by Joey. It was during her one-on-one with Joey in episode 3 that really introduced fans to the life Tran came from. She shared her difficult upbringing with her father, and the often tumultuous situations she grew up in.

It was tough to combat that when it came to relationships, but being on the show helped her mend some of those disconnected relationships, including with her mother.

With Tran's time as the Bachelorette coming up, Bachelor Nation hopes that she is able to work through the past and find the love of her life--and someone that can support and uplift her the way she always has wanted to be and deserves.

We look forward to seeing how Jenn's journey plays out, and luckily, we won't have to wait too long. The Bachelorette Season 21 is set to premiere in July 2024.

See you then, Bachelor Nation!
