It feels like The Golden Bachelor season 1 only just premiered and yet somehow we’re almost to the end of Gerry Turner’s journey as The Golden Bachelor. After just five episodes, Gerry is already down to his final three women with Faith Martin, Leslie Fhima, and Theresa Nist standing as the Final 3 of this season.

To be honest, I can’t say I’m surprised that Faith, Leslie, and Theresa ended up being Gerry’s finalists as it’s been clear since early on that Gerry was forming genuine and real connections with all three women. We’ve seen Gerry growing closer to the trio across this season and to see them left standing at the end of the season makes perfect sense and isn’t at all surprising.

Tonight, Gerry will be getting the chance to know the three women even better as he heads out to their respective hometowns to meet their families and learn more about them. The episode promised to bring a lot of drama with the promo for the episode seeing Gerry torn over what to do as he faces his most difficult decision of the season. It’s a decision that is sure to leave Bachelor Nation stunned because we did not see it coming either!

Warning The Golden Bachelor spoilers ahead.

Gerry Turner Golden Bachelor hometowns recap

Gerry’s first hometown was with Theresa! Gerry headed out to New Jersey to meet Theresa’s daughter Jen, her son-in-law Matt, her three grandsons, and her sisters Charlotte and Mary.

Theresa’s sisters seemed to immediately take to Gerry, while her daughter asked the hard question of whether Gerry was falling in love with her mother to which he sort of danced around the answer. Still, Jen gave him a glowing review after the meeting we got a sense there might have been some hesitation.

After meeting the family, Gerry and Theresa enjoyed a night at a carnival where Theresa admitted she was in love with Gerry. While he didn’t say the L-word back to her, in his confessional he did admit he’s falling in love with her which seems promising!

From there the action moves to Washington where Gerry meets Faith’s family including her sister Beth, her two sons, and her grandkids.

During a conversation with her sister, Beth is able to see just how much Faith is falling for Gerry telling her that she can see in her eyes that she’s brought down her walls and is smitten — which Faith confirms.

Faith’s two sons get some 1-on-1 time with Gerry and it’s so touching to see how protective the boys are of their mom as they ask Gerry about his feelings for Faith to which he tells them he thinks he is indeed falling in love with her. Beth also gets the chance to catch up with Gerry and the two share an amazing conversation in which Beth gets emotional over how safe Gerry has made Faith feel.

In a surprise twist, before Gerry leaves, he and Faith actually share I Love Yous making Faith the first woman this season Gerry said “I love you” too this season.

For his final hometown, Gerry heads to Minnesota where he meets Leslie’s brother Stewart, her grandkids, and her three kids Eli, Chloe and Zack.

Chloe can see the happiness in her mom from the moment she arrives with Gerry and becomes sure there is something special between the two when she has a 1-on-1 with her mother.

As Leslie catches up with her daughter, Gerry sits down with Stewart and it’s so cute to see how protective Stewart is of his little sister. After chatting for a bit, Gerry asks Stewart if he has his blessing which Stewart happily gives telling Gerry that if he and Leslie are happy and want to get married, they have Stewart’s blessing.

Following another successful hometown, Leslie and Gerry spent some alone time together. Leslie told Gerry she was in love with him and he passionately told her he loves her too!

Faith is eliminated from The Golden Bachelor after hometowns

In a twist that few are likely to see coming. Episode 7 of The Golden Bachelor sees Gerry eliminating Faith Martin with Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist becoming Gerry’s final two.

At the rose ceremony, Gerry gave his first rose to Leslie which didn’t surprise us given how he told her he loved her during their hometown. Clearly, the pair formed a strong connection, and we would have been shocked to see Leslie go.

Before handing out a second rose, Gerry steps away clearly emotional and unsure of who to send home having formed genuine connections with all three women. While the episode ends with a cliffhanger, leaving it up in the air who gets the final rose of the night we can confirm that Faith is sent home after hometowns.

While we still can’t believe it, we weren’t too surprised as Reality Steve reported that Faith was eliminated after the hometown dates with Theresa and Leslie getting the two roses and moving on to the Final 2.

The promo for the Women Tell All Special hinted that there would be an emotional reunion coming our way as Gerry and Faith come face to face for the first time since filming and we were not ready for the emotions that came from that conversation.
