For my fellow spoiler lovers, let’s get into the tea from this season of the show!
With our trusted source, Reality Steve, on our side, we’re diving headfirst into all the tea that has been spilled about the current season of the show including who will be leaving Paradise engaged!
Who gets engaged on Bachelor in Paradise 2023?
This season of Bachelor in Paradise doesn’t end in many engagements, but there are two couples who leave the beach engaged this season! Season 9 ends with John Henry Spurlock getting engaged to Kat Izzo and Aaron Bryant getting engaged to Eliza Isichei!
Of the other couples in the finale, Aven Jones and Kylee Russell are the only other couple who leave Paradise together with most of the other couples calling it quits as the season comes to a close. Here’s a quick recap of how things end for the couples that made it to the season 9 finale:
- Kat Izzo and John Henry Spurlock – Engaged
- Aven Jones and Kylee Russell – Leave Together
- Aaron Bryant and Eliza Isichei – Engaged
- Samantha Picco and Peter Cappio – Break Up
- Tanner Courtad – Leaves Alone
- Jess Girod – Leaves Alone
- Jordan Vandergriff – Leaves Alone
- Mercedes Northup – Leaves Alone
- Olivia Lewis and Michael Barbour – Break Up
While the season only featured two engagements, it does end with a bang as the 3-hour finale includes a special Bachelor in Paradise wedding!
Mari and Kenny get married in the Bachelor in Paradise season 9 finale
There is a wedding coming this season on Bachelor in Paradise, just not one featuring a couple from this season! According to Reality Steve, the wedding that will be taking place this season is between Bachelor in Paradise season 7 couple Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin.
Kenny and Mari had a bit of a rocky road in Paradise during their season with some back and forth, but in the end, they overcame the season’s obstacles and came out stronger on the other side. They left the beach engaged in 2021 and have been together ever since, so it’s only fitting that they celebrate their love by getting married this season on Bachelor in Paradise.
The promos for the season have been a bit confusing as they were framed in a way that suggested the wedding was going to be a couple from this season, but that’s simply not the case. However, the couples from this season who make it to the end will be present for Kenny and Mari’s wedding!
Kat Izzo and John Henry Spurlock end up together
Sparks quickly fly between Kat Izzo and John Henry Spurlock and their relationship is one that actually makes it to the end! According to Reality Steve spoilers, Kat and John Henry “definitely leave the show engaged,” making them one of the few couples who end up together at the end of the show’s new season.
Kat and John Henry are rumored to be still together after filming as the pair were spotted in July getting cozy. Some Reddit fans have also noticed that Kat mentioned moving to North Carolina which just so happens to be where John Henry is based.
Aven Jones and Kylee Russell don’t get engaged, but are still together
While Aven and Kylee might not leave Bachelor in Paradise engaged, the pair most definitely leave the beach together and are still together — or at least they were still together as of November 2023 when they were seen in an Instagram Stories post together.
Aven and Kylee have quietly been one of the season’s cutest couples. While they haven’t gotten quite as much screentime as other couples, they’ve grown incredibly close over the course of the season developing genuine feelings for one another.
As filming on the season ended, the pair did not leave the beach engaged but remained together after the cameras stopped rolling. Only time will tell where their relationship will go, but we’re rooting for the pair!
Aaron Bryant and Eliza Isichei get engaged
There aren’t many couples who end up together this season on Bachelor in Paradise, but one of the season’s success stories is Aaron Bryant and Eliza Isichei! Aaron and Eliza hit things off on the show and they don’t just end up together at the end of the season, but they are one of only two couples who leave the beach engaged this season!
Aaron and Eliza had quite a journey this summer and it looked like the pair might not make it to finale night at one point. When Aaron’s ex Charity Lawson showed up, many thought Aaron and Eliza were heading for splitsville. Instead, the situation brought them closer together as they worked through their concerns and came out on the other side even stronger than expected.
It’s likely of little surprise to know that Aaron and Eliza were one of the season’s two couples to get engaged given the pair have been a central couple this season.
What remains uncertain is whether the pair are still together after filming has wrapped. Reality Steve has confirmed they leave engaged but has also noted that Eliza headed to Germany after filming wrapped while Aaron returned to San Diego. While they might be doing long-distance work, it’s unclear whether they are still together.
Rachel did not leave Paradise with anyone
Many contestants are lucky enough to find love this season of Bachelor in Paradise, but things don’t quite go well for a few alums looking for a second shot at love.
Former Bachelorette Rachel Recchia was not lucky in love this season and self-eliminated from the show. Rachel made some strong connections while on the beach sparking a relationship with Tanner Courtad and Brayden Bowers from Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelorette, but it was a man from her season that really stole her heart.
When Jordan Vandergriff made his way down the beach, he took Rachel on a date and it looked like the pair might get a second shot at love. Instead, Jordan ended up accepting Mercedes Northup’s rose which led Rachel to make the decision to leave the beach without anyone by her side.
Speaking of self-eliminations, Blake Moynes headed to Paradise after failing to find love on three seasons of The Bachelorette — yes, I said three seasons! Blake seems to have a flash-in-the-pan romance with Jess Girod that does not end well and Blake ended up self-eliminating.
Tyler and Mercedes do not end up together
If there is one thing we want to see, it’s Tyler Norris from Rachel Recchia’s season of The Bachelorette find his match. Tyler has been one of our favorite Bachelor Nation contestants since we first met him. He’s absolutely adorable with the cutest personality ever… and yes, we also acknowledge that the man has abs for days.
When Tyler was sent home on The Bachelorette before getting the chance to introduce Rachel to his family, we were crushed and our hearts broke for him. Since then, he’s made his way to Bachelor in Paradise in hopes of getting a second shot at love but fate hasn’t been on his side.
In season 8, Tyler left Paradise with Brittany Galvin but the couple split after filming wrapped. This season, Tyler hit it off with Mercedes Northup and we had hope that perhaps they would prove to be end-game. Sadly, Tyler broke things off with Mercedes and left the beach before the rose ceremony.
