The Golden Bachelor is here!
It would be an understatement to say we’ve been waiting for this. ABC started advertising for a senior Bachelor long before COVID, and the wait lasted for so many years many began to question if ABC was just trolling us.
But never fear! Gerry Turner is here. Thursday night’s episode of The Golden Bachelor came to us with an amazing Cat Stevens-fueled soundtrack, and it was everything I hoped for and more.
We had a pickleball co-captain, an aging coach, Matt James’s mother, and even a group dance party!
The main takeaway was that these contestants were all so nice; it was surreal. Leslie couldn’t even say, “Move over, b****s,” without emphatically reassuring us, “I’m kidding.”

Jimmy Kimmel’s aunt showed up near the end of the limo exits!
Jimmy Kimmel has had hilarious moments on The Bachelor throughout the years, and his aunt is following in his footsteps.
This woman was amazing. She kept disbelievingly complimenting the ladies, “Look at this one!”
I wish they wouldn’t have played awkward music during her limo exit. Was that necessary?? Don’t insult Chippy!

It’s never fun to watch contestants go home on The Bachelor, especially on the first night, but this was particularly painful.
These women were just so lovely and wholesome. They put themselves out there to come on this show, and watching them stand up there and be rejected was almost more than I could take!
Sigh. All part of the show!
