The new fall season has arrived and with it comes the start of Bachelor Nation Thursdays! Starting tonight, Bachelor Nation fans, myself included, will be able to settle in for a night of franchise offerings as ABC brings us the season premieres of The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise!

It’s quite a night for fans with two shows that are sure to bring totally different vibes. We can expect another crazy season of Bachelor in Paradise as the show brings us plenty of drama on the beach with a new season of Bachelor and Bachelor alums heading to Paradise for a second shot at love.

Meanwhile, on The Golden Bachelor, we’ll get to see Gerry Turner searching for his own second shot at love as the first lead of ABC’s senior-slanted. The show promises to be the most wholesome series to ever emerge from the franchise which we’re honestly so ready for as we can use a bit of wholesome content from this franchise at this point!

Everything to know about The Golden Bachelor season premiere

Tonight’s The Golden Bachelor premiere will kick off the night on ABC premiering at 8/7c as the lead-in to Bachelor in Paradise. The decision to open the night is one that made many fans happy as it was originally scheduled to premiere at 10 p.m. ET, a decision that was called into question by many fans. Instead, the show will kick off the night at the top of the hour which should help ABC reach more viewers and give the show a better shot at succeeding.

Surprisingly, new episodes of The Golden Bachelor will only be an hour long which is a departure from the usual programming plans for the franchise. While we do get one-hour episodes here and there, most of the shows including Bachelor in Paradise typically air two-hour episodes every week.

For Golden Bachelor, ABC is going with an hour format which we’re imagining might be a result of the show not feeling the need to sneak in drama for the sake of drama. Instead, we imagine fans should get to see more genuine connections being formed without filler content.

We’ll get to see just how the tone of the show shapes out tonight when Gerry meets the 22 women vying for his love this season. Night 1 is always one of the most memorable nights of the season as it gives us the chance to meet the contestants for the first time and make our first impressions.

It’s not clear how many women will go home on Night 1, but we should be saying goodbye to a handful of contestants as Gerry has his first rose ceremony of the season!
