The Golden Bachelor has officially revealed its senior citizen lead, and we are here for it! On Good Morning America, the upcoming and highly anticipated series showcased its promo with Mr. Gerry Turner.
All eyes were on the lead, who had been years in the making thanks to ABC advertising this show way before it was set to come out. We’ve been waiting for so long, and now it’s time to meet the man starting a new chapter of love in his life.
Here’s more about The Golden Bachelor and Mr. Turner!
The Golden Bachelor reveals its first lead
The promo starts with Turner standing in front of a mirror, his face blurred, but his hearing aids clear. He’s suited up and looking incredible for his debut!
The voiceover in the promo is perhaps the best part of it all and is worthy of being shared here for you all to read:
“He posts his thirst traps in a leather-bound album. His DMs have postage. He gets the early bird special any time he wants. If you call him, he’ll answer the phone. He doesn’t have gray hair — he has wisdom highlights. Florida wants to retire and move to him. He’s Gerry.”
I don’t know who wrote that, but that is one way to be introduced to the world as the first Golden Bachelor!
This will be an exciting change of pace for the franchise as it is tapping into a world of single folks that we haven’t ventured into. These leads and contestants have lived their lives, been married, had kids, and had grandchildren–and now it’s time to start over romantically (yay!).
Folks like Gerry are getting that second chance at finding love, and I couldn’t be happier for them. I think this series is really going to surprise people, even those that are skeptical of it. I mean, come on, seniors, love, and the world of The Bachelor–need we say anything else?
And with that thought, I’ll leave you with this promo, and I’d love to hear all your thoughts in the comments below!
Looks pretty amazing, doesn’t it?
The Golden Bachelor will air on our television screens very soon!
We don’t have a premiere date yet, but we know the series will air on Mondays this fall on ABC.
