During this week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 20, Jesse Palmer had a front-row seat to all the chaos between Brayden, the other contestants, and Charity Lawson. Throughout the episode, Brayden was not afraid to let it be known that he didn’t know if he would be ready for an engagement at the end of this.

Apart from his being a bit perplexing and frustrating, he has a point. Is anyone realistically ready for that at the end of the experience? It’s not the worst way to feel. Just saying!

In any case, Brayden’s commentary got back to Charity courtesy of Aaron B., and it had her feeling a certain way. I thought Brayden’s rose was getting removed, and he was a goner. However, Charity gave him another shot and let him keep the rose.

According to Jesse Palmer, however, Charity had seriously considered taking away Brayden’s rose and sending him home.

Jesse Palmer reveals Charity’s thought process on sending Brayden home

Palmer spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Charity’s decision to keep Brayden around and how she almost considered taking the rose away.

“Close! At first, I didn’t think she’d do it, but after our second chat, I ran back to watch and was legitimately 50/50 on what she was going to do!” said Palmer. “I think in the end, Charity really likes Brayden and doesn’t want to quit on him because she is so nurturing and patient (she’s a therapist, after all). I believe Charity believes Brayden can get to a place where he feels more comfortable in this environment so that he can see himself getting down on a knee in the end.”

While I respect Charity’s dedication to keeping Brayden around and hoping for the best, I think that is a gamble. When someone has voiced their thoughts so openly, it’s tough for them to go back and change their mind. Now, if there was more time and months spent together, then sure. But given the limited time, these contestants have with one another, it is a gamble on her part to keep Brayden around.

We’ll have to wait and see how this turns out for Charity and Brayden! Hopefully, the odds are in their favor!
