The Bachelorette Season 20, Episode 1 recap: Opening night
3. Meet the Men!
Now Charity had the opportunity to get more time with the men of The Bachelorette Season 20. The pouring rain didn’t stop the emotions from flowing as several men brought on a deep level with Charity, and Xavier even landed a long kiss. James went through a package from his family with Charity, including a handwritten letter from his mom to Charity.
Meanwhile, Nehemiah was undercover as a bartender listening in on the guys’ conversations and asking some of their thoughts on The Bachelorette. He had the perfect vantage point to watch Charity as she met with the men individually. While talking with John, they bonded over their love for their families and siblings, leading to a long kiss. Only the second kiss of the night.
Jesse set out, the first impression rose, and the heat was cranked up. Chris and Caleb B got into a backflip competition, and Caleb even bodyslammed a guy (everyone was ok). Spenser wanted a chance to talk to Charity privately because he had a bombshell to drop…he has a son. He was still very awkward.
On a more heartfelt note, Aaron B broke out the keyboard and played Charity a lovely tune while discussing what he wants in a relationship with The Bachelorette. He broke out the coin flip and won, so Charity had to kiss him. Her third, at least the third documented, of the night.
4. Poor disguise
The longer the night went, the more apparent it became that Nehemiah’s costume was fake. Some men started to recognize him, having seen him on The Bachelor Season 27. Will his moonlighting as a bartender come to an abrupt end? How will the men react when they find out?
Nevertheless, he prevailed, and no one caught on to his act. Some things started to stir in Nehmiah as he heard men expressing doubts about the process and some almost dropping out before the show. Brayden was the next man to talk to Charity one-on-one and received a kiss for his heartfelt and compassionate conversation. The Bachelorette Season 20 is off to a hot start!
Nehemiah revealed himself to the group, and they were shocked. After the long kiss, he had already picked up on Brayden’s attitude and cockiness. That was an immediate flag for him. Now he had the opportunity to talk to Charity before she made her decision on the first impression rose.
