After a dramatic ending to their season together, Clayton Echard is opening up about where he stands with his former girlfriend, Gabby Windey. During The Bachelor Season 26, the two of them (along with Rachel Recchia) had a very emotional breakup and parted ways.

Due to the dramatic ending, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia became dual Bachelorettes on the next season of The Bachelorette. They didn’t exactly find long-lasting love after their time on the show but have been living their best lives nonetheless.

Over the last few months, Gabby has been throwing shade at her former beau on Instagram, leaving us wondering where they stand now.

Clayton Echard addresses where he and Gabby Windey stand now

Clayton Echard was on the Click Bait with Bachelor Nation podcast recently and shared what is happening with him and Gabby now. Clayton has made comments on some of Gabby’s posts that have only stirred the proverbial pot some more.

Podcast host Joe Amabile asked Clayton to share what’s been going on and what the gossip is all about.

“Gabby posted something else recently about her selling the dresses from when we were in the same season, and I commented, ‘Don’t be shy, tag him.’ I’m just having fun with it,” said Clayton. “I have no bad blood towards her. I have not spoken to her at all since the end of my season. I don’t know how she feels about me. I would hope it’s water under the bridge.”

According to the former Bachelor, he didn’t take Gabby’s posts as jabs and thought it was all in lighthearted fun. As far as he understood it, it was just playful banter, and he hoped that everything that had happened was now water under the bridge.

When Amabile asked if Clayton ever considered sliding into Gabby’s DMs, he said he didn’t see a need to. According to him, they’re just friends, and that’s where the line is drawn. He feels that both of them know this and that there is nothing more going on.

It’s so strange to think about this because things feel so different when the season is going on. But in the blink of an eye, these two are just friends and nothing more. What was once a hope of marriage and a life together is now simply something of the past.
