Gabi Elnicki was put through the wringer on the most recent season of The Bachelor. She is still processing the heartbreak of what Zach Shallcross did to her, and I can’t say I blame her.

She was recently on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast, Off the Vine, and shared how she has been coping since leaving The Bachelor. According to Elnicki, she is “still getting over it.” My heart goes out to her–she deserved better!

Gabi Elnicki reflects on The Bachelor

“I am not somebody that holds grudges towards people, I don’t hold resentment, I don’t hold anger,” Elnicki said. “Do I think I’m going to be pals with Zach? No. Am I still angry and hurt? Absolutely.”

If you’ve forgotten what happened, let me give you a quick recap. During Fantasy Suites, Zach decided not to sleep with any contestants. However, he and Gabi got intimate and spent the night together, and he was in his feelings about it.

He did not sleep with Ariel, slept with Gabi, then proceeded not to update Ariel on what happened, and then aired all the details to Kaity. It was a disaster!

During the After the Final Rose special, Gabi cried while talking to Zach, stating it was “extremely violating that the entire nation knows everything.” I couldn’t agree more! What were you thinking, Zach?!

Despite all that has happened, Gabi remains close to Kaity and wants her to have all the happiness in the world. On the podcast, Gabi shared that she hopes she can eventually get past what Zach did, but at this point, she is still trying to work through it.

Take all the time you need, Gabi!

Listening to the interview, I’m very proud of how Gabi shared her feelings about the situation. She’s hurting, she’s in pain, and she’s not sugarcoating it. There is a lot of happiness for Kaity and a level of empathy for Zach’s actions, but it doesn’t mean that she has to pretend she’s okay.

“I’m upset and I’m disappointed and I have a lot of emotions, and some of them don’t necessarily have words, but I want the best for her. And so, if he makes her happy and he respects her, and he shows her, you know, love and he protects her, then I’m happy for them,” said Gabi.

The whole thing was awkward and sad, but I wish Kaity and Zach well. I’m glad they could find one another on The Bachelor, and while it wasn’t the easiest route, there is still something to celebrate.

As far as Gabi goes, I hope that she finds the person for her and finds the happiness she deserves. Unfortunately, she had to endure what she did, but Gabi will be stronger for it in the long run.

Next. Kaitlyn Bristowe got a stipend from ABC before becoming the Bachelorette. dark

We’re rooting for you, Gabi!
