The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 11 recap: The Big Finale

9. Gabi’s Hot Seat

As we watched it all unfold, Gabi sat in the hot seat with Jesse watching it all back. She noted that watching it back is worse than being in that moment. Gabi said you felt all those emotions and the hurt that went along, knowing it probably wasn’t her.

She also made a good point about letting her get through the whole day and go to the altar to send her home. She felt humiliated at that moment, knowing she had spent the entire day preparing to be sent home.

Jesse brought up the second-choice theme we’ve seen with Gabi this season, and she still felt the same about it. She wanted someone to choose her first every day, and throughout this entire process, she never felt first but wanted to find someone who could do that for her. She relished the conversations with Zach but still feels violated about the Fantasy Suite week.

Zach was brought out next for Gabi to get clarity and closure from The Bachelor Season 27. Gabi got to the floor when Zach came out and didn’t know what to say. She went through her emotions and how she was hurt, still hurting, and maybe hurting more after watching it all back. Jesse prompted Gabi with a question about Zach revealing their misdeed during their fantasy suite.

Gabi went into detail about how after their time on the beach during their Fantasy Suite date, she felt so protected by Zach and was disappointed in how the night’s events aired out. Gabi revealed that they decided what happened that night would be between them. However, that was not the case, as he admitted to Kaity what they did.

She later revealed that she didn’t know Zach told everyone else they had sex, but she didn’t realize that until she watched it back last week. She thought he had only told Kaity, not everyone watching on national television. Gabi also mentioned the rose ceremony and how he only talked to Kaity afterward. She wished he had sent her home at that moment instead of stringing her to the end.

Zach was given a short chance to reply and said watching it back was not how he should have handled things. There is no excuse for what he did, but he felt at that moment that it was a secret he had to tell. He tried to justify his actions by saying he was trying to be open and honest with everyone but ended up hurting people.

10. The Bachelor Season 27: The Proposal Part 2

One final rose to give to the woman of his dreams. That woman happens to be Kaity! She approached Jesse before seeing Zach and revealed that she was still nervous, not knowing what to expect.

She made her way to the altar and gave a heartfelt speech to Zach about him being the one, saying that if it’s not Zach, then it’s no one—a compelling statement. Zach returned the favor with a good speech and told her he was no longer falling in love with her but was in love with her. He wanted to go through life with only her and be with her forever.

Zach was shaking as he proposed to Kaity, who accepted his proposal graciously. The final rose was accepted—ring on hand. Kaity and Zach were ready to start their new life together in their combined hometown of Houston, Texas. Their chapter in Thailand ended with a boat ride out into the ocean.

Kaity joined Zach on stage in their first public appearance together since the show wrapped up filming. Zach said after the last chance date after the Fantasy Suites. He knew Kaity was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Jesse asked about what happened on the fantasy suite dates, and Kaity said they pride themselves on communication and being loyal to each other. That was a tough moment, but they are stronger now because of it.

Returning from a commercial break, the couple revealed that they would be moving in with each other in Austin in the summer. Weddings were brought up next, and while they talked about it briefly, they tried to test things out. They have a tentative date of 2025 for a potential wedding. Kaity revealed she still has a friendship with Gabi and Ariel and thought that the women from The Bachelor Season 27 were incredible.

At the show’s end, we got a sneak peek at the first episode of Charity’s season of The Bachelorette. Jesse hinted that her opening night was full of twists and turns. In the clip, he is talking to Charity and reveals that the first man she would be meeting she has a history with. It was, of course, her brother. Nehemiah, her older brother, showed up on night one and donned a disguise to get to know the guys as an undercover brother. Well, that’s a wrap on The Bachelor Season 27 and a look ahead at The Bachelorette Season 20!
