The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 10 recap: Fantasy Suites!
5. Kaity’s Fantasy Suite Date
After a brief commercial break, Zach shifted attention to his next and last fantasy suite date of The Bachelor Season 27 with Kaity. He wanted to tell Kaity and Ariel about what happened between him and Gabi. Zach met up with Kaity in the Thailand outback, where they would spend their date.
The two boarded a clear-bottom kayak and toured down the rivers in the jungle. Many feelings were weighing on Zach, but he couldn’t bring himself to start a conversation with Kaity about what happened with Gabi. At least not at the beginning of the date. They parked the kayak and took a moment to soak in the environment.
Zach took this opportunity to explain what had happened on his previous fantasy suite dates. He said he didn’t want to have sex this week and explained that to both women before their dates. He then dropped the bomb that he had been intimate that week after both parties agreed. His defense was that he followed his heart and did what was best to further the relationship.
Kaity was upset by the news and took a while to collect her thoughts before responding. She said going into this week of The Bachelor Season 27, and she knew it could happen and that it sucked to hear it did happen. Zach just wanted to be open and honest with her since that is what he has asked for throughout this process. Kaity reiterated that she assumed it would happen, but hearing it aloud was a different story. She told him she would have preferred not to have it confirmed.
They ended their awkward conversation with just a hug, and Kaity expressed in her aside interview that she was upset and knew that although Zach said he was sorry, he wasn’t for doing what he did. As he tried to hug his way out of this conversation, Kaity revealed that their relationship was now weird and that there was a distance between them. She said that his relationship with the other women should have stayed there and that she honestly didn’t want to hear about the other women.
Zach tried to convince her that he could see them together. However, Kaity was not reciprocating this. She asked how Zach wanted her to respond, and he said whatever she felt. There is now a rift between these two, and the fate of the date and their relationship hangs in the balance.
6. The Dinner Date
Zach waited anxiously to see if Kaity would be showing up to the dinner date after how poorly his dropping the news about having sex went earlier on the date. Nevertheless, Kaity arrived for dinner, but there was an anxious tension in the air. Their dinner was the most casual fantasy suite date on The Bachelor Season 27 thus far, posting up on a couch with a little food on an end table.
Zach started the conversation by asking how Kaity was doing now. She said she had been going through a lot after her hometown date, finally seeing her family and being apart from them again. She also talked about the moment she revealed to Zach that she was falling in love with him and how special and serious that moment was to her.
He then trailed off to how it’s against his nature to keep secrets and lie and wouldn’t want Kaity to go to an engagement without getting the whole picture of the process. Kaity said that it’s not always sunshine and rainbows in relationships, and this wasn’t anything they couldn’t work through. That was a pretty bold and powerful statement. She noted, as she has said before, there is nothing they can’t get through and that he makes her feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
They ended this overly positive conversation with a long kiss and seemed to clear the distance that was once created. Kaity read Jesse’s date card, and they decided to spend the night together to discuss their relationship in more detail. Although the point had been beaten to death, Zach didn’t break up the no-sex parameter anymore and noted that anything could happen on The Bachelor.
