The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 10 recap: Fantasy Suites!
3. Gabi’s Fantasy Suite Date
Gabi met Zach on the beach to kick off their fantasy suite date. After exchanging pleasantries, Zach revealed they would spend the date on their own private island. Even better, as Gabi described, they would be taking a pirate ship to their island. They dipped into the ocean, diving off the pirate ship when they reached the island.
On the beach, Gabi and Zach caught up on their time away, where Gabi expressed how she was feeling second after their break during hometowns and her being the second fantasy suite date. She admitted it was mostly her getting into her mind with stress and anxiety creeping in. She walked away and talked to the producers about how she was feeling and expressed her self-doubt.
Zach walked over to Gabi to find out what was causing her anxiety. She broke down and let it all out, saying that in her previous relationship, she was cheated on and treated like she was second. Last night everything seemed to break to the surface, and the doubts started to creep into her head along with everything else she was feeling on The Bachelor Season 27. Zach reiterated that this was a tough process and that he was there for her no matter what. He expressed how he also faced insecurities and anxiety and wanted her to avoid expressing those feelings.
The two capped off their date by dining in a cabana. Zach wanted to discuss his rule of no sex during this week and hoped it would come up naturally. Gabi had a heartfelt toast to kick things off. She then talked about her previous relationship and being cheated on. Gabi revealed that she was falling in love with Zach, and he was elated.
Gabi read off the date card from Jesse, and Zach had to drop the bomb he was holding onto. He expressed how he wanted to take this time to have deep conversations but addressed the stigma around this week. He then said that what felt right to him was not having sex during this week.
The two decided to spend the night together on The Bachelor Season 27 with the understanding that there would be no sex. While Gabi expressed disappointment and didn’t think this would happen, she respected the decision. She also noted how she didn’t know she would get engaged to someone without having sex first. Well, there’s a first for everything.
She was relieved to hear that no one else was having sex with Zach and that he was waiting for the right one. However, she capped her aside interview by saying he said they might. It happens to one woman…is it Gabi?
4. Broken Rules
The morning after, Gabi talked about how great the night went and how they had a great cuddle sesh. Zach spoke about how their relationship is stronger now, and they had an extraordinary moment during the date. He invited Jesse into his room when he returned to the resort and had a secret to tell. He revealed that they both agreed to and had sex which broke the ground rules he put in place for this week of The Bachelor Season 27.
Jesse tried to help The Bachelor see the bright side of the situation, although it seemed to bother Zach. He noted that he had zero regrets about what he did with Gabi and was not embarrassed or upset about what happened with her. Zach concluded that he wanted to be open and honest with the other women about what happened.
Zach reiterated that it was an act of love, not lust, and that now that beautiful moment is robbed because it feels like a secret. He had some big decisions to make, knowing that being open and honest with the other women about his intimate relationship with Gabi could spell doom for the entire week and maybe the whole process.
After his conversation with Jesse, he went to Gabi to discuss what was on his mind. Her first question was, “aren’t you supposed to be on a date?” Zach said that his night with Gabi was the best night and one of the most magical moments he has experienced. He then talked about how he was nervous about leaving after his bold declaration of not having sex this week. Zach told Gabi she made him feel so special but couldn’t go on with the week with secrets and wanted to be transparent and honest with the other women.
Gabi said that she didn’t know he would be that bothered, and Zach reiterated that it had nothing to do with their relationship and that it was a truly special moment between those two. Gabi hoped to keep this information private and between them but realized that would not be the case. She felt her trust was broken, although she did a poor job of expressing that to Zach.
Zach went on to say that he didn’t want anything to get in the way of their relationship and revealed that he was falling in love with Gabi, the first woman on The Bachelor Season 27 whom he has said this. Despite being caught off guard, this had to feel good that she was finally put first in the process and seemed to be the leading woman for Zach.
