The Bachelorette: Charity Lawson announced as the next lead

Charity Lawson is the next Bachelorette! Last night, following the Women Tell All Special, host Jesse Palmer revealed the news on live television. Of course, anyone watching these shows for a long time knows this was as scripted as everything else.

Charity was glammed up more than anyone else, and the way she responded when Jesse told her she was the next lead gave away that she definitely knew. But that is neither here nor there, and I’m super excited that Charity Lawson will be our next Bachelorette–she’s been my favorite this season by far!

Charity Lawson is our next Bachelorette–and we love it!

After her heartbreaking send-off from The Bachelor, it only made sense that she would be the next lead. Zach sent her home after the hometown date with her family, and while it was probably not the best decision he’d made this season, it set her up very nicely to take over as our next Bachelorette.

How Charity found out she would be the next Bachelorette was fun, albeit scripted. After the special concluded, Jesse went into Charity’s dressing room under the guise that they would be filming things for the social media accounts.

It was supposed to be a “This” or “That” question game which eventually led Jesse to ask her “The Bachelorette” or “Bachelor in Paradise. ” Of course, she answered with the former, which gave Jesse the moment he needed to make the big reveal— “I’m glad you said that because Charity, I want you to be our next Bachelorette.” I mean, he’s not the one making that decision, but it’s okay, we’ll roll with it.

And just like that, Charity became our next Bachelorette or the lead of Season 20! It’s wild to think we’re that many seasons in, but here we are, and it will hopefully be amazing. I’m really looking forward to Charity Lawson being the lead, and I think she will do a great job.
