The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 8 recap: Hometowns!
5. Rose Ceremony
Zach met up with Sean Lowe recapping his hometown dates and where he stands with the remaining women and their families. He seemed to favor Kaity’s date over the others, saying he could picture her mom as a future mother-in-law. Sean told Zach that this was when he decided on his true love and asked Zach if he knew what he would do. Zach was still unsure of his impending decision to send at least one person home.
Back in Los Angeles, California, The Bachelor Season 27 crew returned to the mansion for the rose ceremony. The women returned, first meeting with Jesse before waiting for the rose ceremony. Gabi revealed that while she is falling in love with Zach, she has not told him. Meanwhile, Kaity had told him this and felt better. Zach checked all the boxes for Charity, and her family approved their relationship. Ariel told Jesse that she told Zach how she was feeling.
Zach had three roses to hand out during this ceremony meaning one woman would be sent home tonight. All four have invested a lot of time and emotion into this process, and meeting everyone’s families was a big next step that is hard to recover from. Zach appeared tense and anxious about his decision as he addressed the remaining women. The first rose went to Ariel, which was a surprise. The following rose went to Kaity, which was no surprise. This left one rose to be handed out to either Gabi or Charity.
In the end, Zach gave the rose to Gabi, meaning Charity would be going home. During her conversations with her family members, she showed some doubt in revealing how she truly felt about Zach but was most of all afraid of heartbreak. Ultimately this was what she was met with. The two had a nice conversation before Zach led her away. Charity was upset but walked away from the experience, thankful she participated. Zach started to tear up, showing that this wasn’t an easy decision for him either.
