The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 8 recap: Hometowns!
3. Columbus, Georgia
Charity met Zach in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia, for her hometown date on The Bachelor Season 27. They spent their time at a traditional southern family cookout where Zach met her family and extended family. Many noted how happy Charity looked when she arrived with Zach, and the two made a cute couple.
Her dad pulled her aside first to get the details of their relationship. She said this could be the real deal, although they haven’t told each other the infamous L word yet. She noted that she had great role models growing up in her mom and dad and wants to replicate their relationship. Her friends were next where she said she was falling for him, but they hadn’t said anything about that yet. They asked if Zach had opened up to her, and Charity talked about how he had been transparent and honest with her, which she truly loved.
Her friends were worried about how things would end if it weren’t for Charity after seeing her through some tough relationships. Despite the outcome, they reassured her that they would always be there for her. Meanwhile, Zach was meeting with Charity’s brother. Her brother asked Zach how she stood out amongst the other women, and Zach talked about how he was compartmentalizing everything but always took each person’s thoughts and feelings in his decisions.
Charity met with her brother next, and he reassured her that he always wanted the best for her and would do anything to make that happen. After seeing Charity during her last relationship, he was worried about heartbreak when things didn’t go well. He said she deserves the world and wants her to find her happily ever after despite the outcome of The Bachelor. Before this discussion, she tried to tell Zach she was falling for him. After this discussion, she was reminded of her recent heartbreak and had second thoughts about telling Zach.
Last but certainly not least was Charity’s conversation with her mom. She asked if they had delved deep into her conversations with Zach, and she reaffirmed that he checks all the boxes for her. Charity said she is trending toward falling in love but is scared to repeat those words. Her mom said it was scary to say those words but that she needed to be cautious. She said she only wanted the best for her and has always wanted that. Her mom cried and said that Zach seemed like the perfect guy for her.
Despite how well this date went, that wasn’t the end. Charity took Zach line dancing in a country bar to conclude their time together. Ultimately, she revealed to Zach that she was falling in love with him. He didn’t say much in return, but the kiss was enough. Could Charity be the one at the end of The Bachelor Season 27?
4. Austin, Texas
Last but not least was Kaity in her hometown, and Zach’s, of Austin, Texas. Although she revealed she had only been there for a few weeks, is that long enough to call it a hometown? This started kind of being a skeptical hometown date. Nevertheless, the two went grocery shopping together since Kaity didn’t have much food in her new apartment.
They continued to shop around before heading to Kaity’s house. Zach mentioned how he couldn’t stop smiling and grinning around Kaity and how this was the perfect date. This was a genuine date as the two mocked how living together and a typical day would be. Kaity was still moving in and decided to have Zach pitch in as a good test of their relationship.
They built a bookcase together before she got Zach to change a couple of light bulbs. He even helped her set up her new bed. She previewed what Zach could expect when meeting her family, especially her mother, on their hometown date on The Bachelor Season 27. She talked very emotionally about what an inspiration her mother has been to her and all she has had to deal with throughout life.
Zach met Kaity’s mom and brother and some other family members. The couple recapped their initial one-on-one date in the Museum of Natural History. Her mom stole Kaity away first and felt awkward about how touchy the couple was without having met Zach herself. She had always been a part of this process with Kaity and now finds herself knowing nothing. Kaity’s mom asked if she was there, meaning an engagement, and Kaity felt she was there. She revealed it’s hard knowing he is still seeing other women but valued her opinion and wanted her approval in the end.
Kaity’s mom met with Zach next, tried to pin him down on his feelings, and asked if he was falling in love with Kaity. He replied that it was such a strong word and didn’t want to throw it out there. He settled that he could see himself falling for Kaity, a very safe answer. Kaity felt the same about the words and wasn’t ready to say that to Zach yet. She could see a future with him but didn’t want to say the words too quickly and have it all melt away.
After another discussion with her mother, she solidified her feelings that she was falling in love with Zach. After the family date, Kaity revealed to Zach that she was falling in love with him and reiterated how important this was for her to say. Zach showed his affection in return with a kiss but did not verbally confirm his emotions. He seems to keep that close to his chest on The Bachelor Season 27.
