Dean Unglert wants to get a vasectomy before having kids

Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes have begun family planning in the only way they know how–unpredictably and unexpectedly. Considering their out-of-the-box lifestyle, it may not be as unexpected as we think, but it’s surprising nonetheless.

Just last year, the Bachelor in Paradise couple got engaged after meeting on the series a few years ago. They have been going strong, and while it seemed like they wouldn’t veer towards the institution of marriage for a while, it happened.

And now, while they are planning for the wedding, Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes are discussing family planning and what that looks like. More on that below!

Dean Unglert has an idea for family planning

While talking on the “Help! We Suck at Being Newlyweds” podcast, Caelynn discussed something she and Dean had discussed regarding having kids.

“I don’t know if Dean’s talked about this on the podcast, but he really wants to get a vasectomy — before we have kids,” said Caelynn. “He wants to get a vasectomy because he doesn’t think it’s fair that a woman has to take birth control. So then when we’re ready to have kids, he would un-snip himself, and we would have children.”

It’s commendable that he is thinking about Caelynn and how to ensure the responsibilities are evenly divided. Of course, podcast host Jared Haibon shared concerns that many of us had–if Dean gets the vasectomy, will he able to reverse it? What if he can’t reverse the snip?

It’s unclear how that will all work out, but in the meantime, the couple is looking at venues and planning all the exciting things that accompany a wedding. They couldn’t be happier being together and can’t wait for what life has in store.

Of course, wedding planning is overwhelming at times, and they’re still in the phase of trying to figure out where the wedding will be. Caelynn shared that Dean tends to stick to one plan once they’ve discussed something and doesn’t quite understand what it means to be more flexible.

If you’ve ever planned a wedding, then you know that Dean Unglert might need to be more chill about where it all takes place, but if I know this couple, I know they will be okay! And I can’t wait to see how the wedding plans come together!
