Zach Shallcross has narrowed the field to 11 women as The Bachelor Season 27 has gone international. The crew now leaves the sunny Bahamas for the historic city of London, England. As Zach grows deeper connections with the remaining women, love is in the air. Who makes it through another week, let’s find out what happened in The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 5!

Gabi was the first to receive a date in London, spending the day as royalty with Zach. They bonded over their shared experience and grew their relationship deeper. Gabi accepted her rose as every queen does. The group date had some depressing news to start hearing that Zach would not attend because he was under the weather. No rose was given out on this date.

Zach later tested positive for Covid, meaning Charity’s date was also canceled. The Bachelor Season 27 pivoted and hosted the cocktail party and rose ceremony virtually for the first time in franchise history.

Who did Zach choose to keep on The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 5?

Before testing positive for Covid, Zach gave Gabi a rose, which secured her spot following this week’s rose ceremony. However, without a group date or another one-on-one date, the rest of the women were vulnerable to elimination. Zach elected to send two of the remaining 11 women home, which brought the total number moving on to episode six to nine.

At the virtual rose ceremony, Zach gave the first rose to Kaity, who brought him the gift basket after they found out he tested positive for Covid. Next to receive a rose was Charity, who missed out on her one-on-one date with Zach, where she would have likely gotten a rose. Aly received a rose next and has flown under the radar in The Bachelor Season 27.

Kat received the next rose after having a great virtual conversation with Zach, wowing him with her mastery of the English vocabulary. After showing her goofy side during their cocktail party chat, Brooklyn was awarded a rose. Jess, who has yet to get a one-on-one with Zach and may not for a while, received the next rose. This left two roses to be given out between Mercedes, Ariel, Kylee, and Greer.

Ariel received the next rose after not having a big presence in this episode. This left the final three down to Mercedes, Kylee, and Greer. Kylee walked away from their virtual chat feeling good about their relationship. Greer had quite the opposite reaction. Mercedes was still recovering from her hyperventilating when she didn’t get the one-on-one date with Zach. Ultimately, Zach chose to keep Greer around despite their awkward conversation.

Who did Zach send home on The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 5?

This meant that both Mercedes and Kylee were eliminated from The Bachelor. This didn’t come as a shock to Mercedes, who believed she was on the chopping block. She had yet to receive that one-on-one time with Zach and suffered through several group dates without getting recognized.

Kylee’s dismissal was a bigger surprise to her, especially after their positive conversation at the cocktail party. She navigated the drama of the last episode, resulting in Anastasia being sent home early. While this episode was drama free, it’s hard to find another fault in Kylee’s relationship with Zach other than her involvement in the drama. She was supposed to be on the group date Zach missed, but they seemed to have a good conversation before the ceremony.

Nevertheless, the journey continues, and it looks like Zach and the women are in for a wild ride. Zach has shown that he is ready to make his own decisions on his journey and isn’t afraid to shake things up and break the norm. It looks like this may come back to haunt him when he starts to narrow down the field even further. In the end, does he find his best friend, his true love?
