Monday night’s episode of The Bachelor Season 27 saw Zach Shallcross and his group of women heading to the Bahamas, which Jesse Palmer says is one of the most romantic spots in the world. I guess I’ll take his word for it!

There was certainly romance this week, along with plenty of drama, fun in the sun, and a ton of shellfish.

Season 27 is definitely picking up. Zach continues to grow on me every week. I love how intentional he is about giving specific compliments to each of the women.

Let’s get to the best and worst moments of The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 4!

The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 4: Worst moment: The shellfish

Okay, this might be a small thing, but I felt SO bad for Gabi. She is allergic to shellfish, and was taken on a group date where many of the activities were centered on shellfish!

There has been a longstanding tradition of The Bachelor pushing girls “out of their comfort zones” and having them try local cuisine, and they’re often seemingly judged on their willingness to do this and “put themselves out there.”

So why would the producers plan a whole date around shellfish, certainly knowing one of the girls is allergic??

There were obviously other things they could have done in the Bahamas. Gabi just looked so nervous that she wouldn’t be able to show Zach she was participating. She said she literally wasn’t even able to kiss him because he had eaten shellfish. So sad!

The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 4: Best moment: Brooklyn!

I love Brooklyn. She seems SO authentic and genuine and just full of life.

Sometimes when contestants open up to the lead, it can seem like a sob story that comes out of nowhere and doesn’t need to be told.

Brooklyn’s was SO different. It seems like it was genuinely terrifying for her to tell Zach about her past with domestic violence, and he handled it well even though he clearly didn’t know exactly what to say.

Zach is right– she is a badass! Here’s hoping Brooklyn stays on our screens for a long time!

We commend Brooklyn for being brave and sharing her story. Thank you, Brooklyn.
