The Bachelor: Where did Zach Shallcross play college football?
By Ariba Bhuvad
Zach Shallcross took some of the remaining contestants on a football group date (surprise, surprise) during last week’s episode of The Bachelor. This has become a staple date for every single season, and honestly, I wish they’d get more creative.
But that’s neither here nor there.
During the date, fans were curious whether or not Zach Shallcross himself ever played football. Perhaps in college? Or even professionally? Former alums such as Clayton Echard and current host Jesse Palmer played professionally so it’s not a wild assumption.
As it turns out, Zach did not play professionally, however, he did play in college! More on where and for how long below!
Here’s where Zach Shallcross played college football
We didn’t hear Zach talk about his time playing college football when he was a contestant on The Bachelorette. However, he’s mentioned it multiple times as the Bachelor, so we had to find out a bit more about where he played.
From 2014-2017, Zach played for the California Polytechnic State University Cal Poly Mustangs. In his junior year, he missed the final games due to an injury. He played the position of Offensive Lineman according to the Cal Poly player bio page.
If you take a look at that bio page, you’ll learn that Zach was part of the 2017 team which led the season at number 11 in running and number 9 in time of possession. Pretty impressive, Mr. Zach Shallcross!
As I mentioned, he did not play in the NFL nor was he ever drafted. However, he has shown interest in being a football commentator one day, according to The New York Post. I’m not sure how he’d be as a commentator, he has a calming, quiet voice that might put you to sleep rather than have you engaged in the game.
I wonder how Zach would have done in the NFL…
