Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio found love on Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, and it’s been smooth sailing since then. When they dropped by the season finale special, not only did Michael tell her that he loves her, but they revealed they’re moving closer together.

They won’t be living together yet, but Danielle Maltby is ready to make the move to Ohio to be closer to Michael Allio and his son, James. Earlier this week, an episode of Bachelor Happy Hour had them both on as guests where we got all the updates, including a very special emotional moment between the couple.

Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio are deep in love

Since the couple left the beaches of Paradise behind, Danielle has been learning all the amazing things about Michael–including seeing him as a father.

“The thing that I was honestly most shocked by was Michael as a father. I was shocked in a very good way,” said Maltby. “I’ve seen other men in my life and they are incredible fathers, don’t get me wrong. My dad is an incredible dad. But actually watching Michael parent made me fall so much more in love with him. It’s incredible to see.”

She went on to say that Michael has a very calming presence about him and that he is basically the best father she’s ever known. These kind words brought Michael to tears, and he went on to open up about how much what she said meant to him.

Michael shared, “That’s the greatest compliment I could ever get. I remember when Laura passed away, I looked at my son who was 2 years old and I said, ‘Cancer took so much from us already, I’m not going to let it take any more.’ I have so many flaws and come up short literally every single day, it’s just the effort and intention I try to parent with.”

It seems, so far, this couple has so much potential and love between them. They have a strong foundation and are willing to meet each other halfway, despite the challenges they’ve both faced. I don’t think there is a better Bachelor Nation couple right now, and I’m so excited to see what is in the future for these two.

It is these types of love stories that give me hope in Bachelor Nation shows, and their ability to work. Amidst the chaos and drama, there is love to be found, and when it arrives, it is as beautiful as ever.
