Finally reunited at last! At least that’s what the cast of Bachelor in Paradise Season 8 thought when everyone was brought together after Split Week. Instead, many found their “strong” relationships weren’t as strong as they had hoped.

Jill and Jacob split, leading Jill to leave the beach entirely. Shanae returned to find Logan with another woman, albeit with Kate, who was on the same season of The Bachelor as Shanae. Victoria and Johnny are now on rocky ground as a new man has found his way into Victoria’s life.

What will happen now as everyone is back together? With new additions on the horizon, it’ll be another test for these young relationships to see who can weather the storm. Who has the roses tonight? Let’s find out what happened in episode 10!

Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, Episode 10 recap

1. One big happy family

We opened with the ongoing internal struggle with Victoria on which guy she wants to pursue. Both parties, men and women, make their way to the cabana for the rose ceremony, neither side knows who will get the roses. We also found out that Sarah left the show for a family emergency.

There are currently 11 men to 10 women on Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, so Jesse revealed that the women would be handing out the roses, which means one man would be going home. There are several men on outs, including Jacob, Adam, and potentially Johnny and Alex. However, the drama seems to be between the women instead of the men.

The OG women and new women are feuding somewhat passive-aggressively. The women’s barracks are rather messy, and both sides are blaming the other. Jessenia mentioned that it was clean until the OG women returned to the beach. Victoria and Genevieve said the mess only happened when the new women took over. This takes me back to arguing with my siblings over whose turn it was to clear our room.

As couples started to form Florence, they found themself wondering who to give their rose to. Adam and Jacob are trying to build connections, and Jacob thinks both Flo and Shanae could be suitors. He and Shanae went away to have a super hygiene session brushing each other’s teeth with charcoal toothpaste. Very, very strange date, but it couldn’t have been better for these two. Shanae seemed to know to who she was giving her rose after this.

Alex went all in on Victoria, taking her to a cabana with chilled wine. The two have a nice conversation, and Victoria gives the right signs to Alex. She then went to a private setting with Johnny to figure out where they were. While they have their conversation, Danielle can’t comprehend why Victoria would even debate not choosing Johnny. In another life, there may have been some interest there. He revealed that he would probably leave the show if she didn’t choose him.

2. Rose Ceremony

Finally, we get to a Bachelor in Paradise Season 8 rose ceremony early in the episode! With the women holding the power, Serene was up first and gave her rose to Brandon. Getting the obvious couples out of the way, Danielle was up next and chose Johnny…I mean Michael (but I bet she wishes it was Johnny). Eliza was up next and gave her rose to Rodney. Genevieve gave her rose to Aaron, and Jessenia gave her rose to Andrew.

Britany gave her rose to Tyler, who accepted. Next up was Kate, who gave her rose to Logan. Following suit, Shanae gave her rose to Jacob right after. Now for Victoria. After some dramatic music and seconds of tension, she gave her rose to Johnny, who accepted graciously. That most likely meant Alex was going home packing. However, in a shocking twist, Florence chose Alex, and he accepted the rose graciously. That meant Adam was going home with many men not even knowing his name.

3. Sugar Johnny

All was well at the beach the morning after the rose ceremony. Everyone is now paired up and spending time with their significant other. The date card after this rose ceremony went to Victoria, who chose Johnny, of course, to go on this date.

They changed and then met in front of the group before departing on their date while Alex watched on. In his interview, he said that it seems like puppy love and that if you look at the numbers, only two couples will come out of Bachelor in Paradise Season 8 together. He is happy to sit by and play the numbers.

The couple set out on a walk to begin their date and met a shaman who would take them on a journey. They started by getting into their bathing suits and discussing their intentions for the date. Victoria accepted it with open arms and said she was looking for a new beginning in their relationship. Johnny didn’t say much and wasn’t feeling the date as much as Victoria. Then they progressed to lighting candles, but Johnny’s wouldn’t light…bad sign.

Their next leg took them into a sweat lodge, where they were told to release their fears. Victoria led and said that she was worried she would be hurt at the end of this because she liked him. Johnny echoed her sentiments and revealed that he felt he was not good enough for her. He wants to grow and experience amazing things with her but doesn’t know if he is there yet. They both felt that, in the end, they weren’t going to be there with each other.

They could conquer their fears and had a deep conversation that ended with both revealing they were falling in love. The date was sealed with a romantic kiss in a hot tub.

4. Second time around

Back on the beach, a new or slightly new arrival came (back) to Bachelor in Paradise. Justin decided to return to the show after a few failed relationships this season to take a shot at Eliza. Date card in hand, he was hoping to build a relationship with Eliza. He was met with mixed reactions because although some men were happy to see his, others were cautious that it would cause a stir with the already paired-up couples.

Genevieve had a bad reaction to his arrival. Justin decided to pull Eliza aside and talk to her. Rodney was a little shaken up while Aaron and Genevieve talked to him. Justin revealed that he only came back for her, and Eliza said she was open to exploring other relationships and agreed to go on the date.

While Justin is talking with Eliza, he inadvertently drives a wedge between Aaron and Genevieve. They were describing what happened with Justin earlier in the season, and it started to sound to Aaron like he was a second option after Genevieve and Justin struck out. He walked away to get some air, and Genevieve followed after him. He explained how he was feeling, and Genevieve cried because she was upset that she had upset Aaron. Aaron then felt bad because his being upset, upset Genevieve, which upset Aaron…again. Wow, we’re doing this? In the end, they hugged, and Aaron told her they were fine and to be good. He was no longer upset, but Genevieve walked away crying…still.

After her conversation with Justin, Eliza approached Rodney and had a conversation. She wanted him to tell her not to go, and while he did say that, he also said that she should go to get clarity. This was not the answer she was looking for, and she started to get upset. Rodney was trying to be a good guy, but Eliza was looking for a man willing to fight for her. He confirmed that he was there for her and believed that, in the end, she would choose the best man for her.

4. Relationships old and new

Victoria and Johnny returned and talked about their date. The others shared the latest shocking news of Bachelor in Paradise Season 8 that Justin had returned. Already dealing with the Justin drama, Aaron and Genevieve set out to put the topic to bed. Aaron didn’t want to be second best and felt that he was putting in a lot of effort to make Genevieve feel special but didn’t necessarily feel that in return. He even cried, which was shocking to see from him. He just wanted someone to understand him, and Genevieve was trying to show that she could be that person.

Justin and Eliza went to dinner for their date. They talked about their shared experience on the show of being in a relationship and still going on a date. Eliza felt good about Justin because he was direct and assertive and came back just for her.  All was going well until Justin started getting attacked by bugs.

While they were on their date, Brandon talked with Rodney on the beach, trying to keep his spirits up. He said that maybe Eliza went on the date for the “What if?” factor and would come back wanting Rodney. However, back on the date, the two were hitting it off. They seemed to have a lot of commonalities which doesn’t bode well for Rodney. They both left the date feeling energized and renewed. Eliza even said that maybe she was supposed to go on this date to find a better match.

While those two had physical and emotional fireworks, Rodney was alone on the beach. As he said that, he thought they would be good and she would return to him. At that same time, Eliza and Justin had their lips locked in a romantic kiss under the fireworks. Again, not looking good for Rodney.
