The Bachelorette Season 19 has been all about twos. Twice the drama, twice the adventure, and of course twice the Bachelorettes! Tonight is no different with Fantasy Suites, part 2. Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey will finish their overnight dates in Mexico in preparation for the two-part season finale next week.
Let’s find out what happened during night two of the Fantasy Suite dates on The Bachelorette Season 19!
The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 10 recap
1) Jason and Gabby
We picked up where we left off last night with Erich and Gabby’s conversation about trust. He admitted he screwed up and shouldn’t have approached it as he did. Gabby returned and allowed Erich to explain himself, and you can tell he is head over heels for Gabby. That overnight date solidified where he wants this to go, and now he doesn’t want to see Gabby with other men. He got very emotional and apologized profusely, ending it with I don’t want to lose you.
Gabby had a conversation with Jesse about the situation and talked through the situation with Erich. Gabby was riding high with him but now feels pressured to make a decision. She reiterates that this is her journey and she needs to be the one to make the decision, and if she wants to be with Erich, it’s because she wants to. Turn the page to Gabby’s date with Jason.
Last night Jason revealed that he is not ready to propose to Gabby and has to be true to himself as well. He reiterated that again tonight and said that he needed to be upfront and honest with Gabby about the way he is feeling. Their date began at the pool and migrated to the tennis court. Jason played tennis in college and Gabby wanted to share in this passion of his. They had a fun time on the court and Jason felt calmer and at home but still doesn’t feel ready to propose. The next spot was back to the pool, where the two shared a more playful time.
Now Erich is playing the role of Tino from last night. During their pool time, they flashed back to Erich talking about the jealousy he is feeling during her other hometown dates. He has fallen deeply in love with Gabby and can’t stand to see her with other men. The couple discussed their hometown date and what she thought of his family back to Jason’s date. They talked about how everything feels natural and comfortable when they are together. Gabby admitted that she is falling in love with him and said she knows it’s going to work for them. Well…maybe she doesn’t know.
The Bachelorette Season 19 Overnight
Their dinner conversation went about how you would expect. Jason dropped the news about how he is feeling and doesn’t see life right now with Gabby long-term. He went far enough to say that there is a lot she still doesn’t know about him and that he doesn’t feel he knows enough about Gabby. How do you get this far in The Bachelorette Season 19 and not know the Bachelorette? Gabby is obviously upset now, having three bad experiences in a row. He said it is hard to be real and develop a real relationship with all the cameras and microphones around them.
As Gabby was processing this information, Jason went to her and explained himself more. He felt they have a genuine, unique relationship with each other but would like to explore it outside the show. He said he does she a future with her outside the show. They decide they need the private experience to get to know each other deeper than they can with everyone around. Jason has been a very private person thus far, and it’s no surprise that he thrives in a more intimate setting. The two decide to go through with the overnight date not necessarily for all the fun stuff but to get to know the real Jason and Gabby in private.
Now it’s the morning, and the resort is quiet. Drinks were half full, and beds were still made. Gabby was on the balcony and explained what had happened last night. Turns out things did not go well with Jason, and they found that they couldn’t agree on anything and decided it was best to call it quits. The two split for the night, and Gabby found Jason in the morning for a real goodbye.
Gabby asked why he stayed around so long if he knew it wouldn’t work in the end. He didn’t have a straight answer but tried to say he only wanted the best for her. Gabby wasn’t having that and sent him on his way. She walked away from that experience feeling that Jason was fine with getting engaged, just not with her. That’s two fantasy suites dates where she walked away feeling that she isn’t loved. Meanwhile, Erich is biting for the chance to spend time with her and may have ruined it. Gabby was starting to doubt the process and wondered if her person was still there.
2) Zach and Rachel
While Rachel was preparing for her overnight date, her third and final on The Bachelorette Season 19, with Zach, she recapped the dates she had already had and talked about how she was falling in love with Aven, in love with Tino, and now falling in love with Zach. The two started their date touring the town. Their first stop is at the bar, tasting tequila and discussing their hometown date, which went incredibly well. They were by far the most welcoming, and Rachel agreed. She also said she doesn’t have to worry about whether Zach will propose or not because she already knows where he stands.
They tried on hats, ate grasshoppers, and read Spanish tarot cards. The card reading discussed Rachel’s uncertainty and how Zach will be a good man but is waiting for Rachel to return his love for her. The couple danced in the street with a mariachi band to cap off the day portion of their overnight date.
They kicked off the dinner portion by discussing the psychic reading and the hang-ups Rachel has been having about her previous experience on the show. Zach talked about how he wants to be the man that protects Rachel and is there for her in the hard times. He also said what Clayton did was wrong and that no man should do that. The two excitedly accept the proposition to spend the night together.
Although, at this point from The Bachelorette Season 19 teasers, Bachelor Nation knows that all does not end well on this date. Also, for those with a stopwatch, Jason’s date took over an hour to be resolved. So far, we have hit the actual fantasy suite portion of Zach’s date in about 15 minutes. Well, the unraveling didn’t occur during the night as the couple woke up together and sipped coffee on the balcony. The two had a tough conversation, apparently, and talked about a lot. They were pretty awkward in the morning so judging by that, the conversation probably didn’t go as well as they had planned.
Zach said the night was not what he expected. He was looking forward to the overnight date to have tough conversations about religion, politics, etc. Zach said that Rachel kept pressing him about being read to propose early. He said he has always been here for her and is ready for that next step. Apparently, she kept pressing, leading Zach to start to second guess himself and believe that Rachel was putting up a front.
He went and found Jesse and immediately broke down in tears. He revealed to Jesse that when the cameras were turned off that Rachel wasn’t acting like herself and was different when they were alone. Age was a big topic brought up, but the two are only a few months apart. Zach left the date feeling like he was betrayed and that everything he thought was going to happen went quite the opposite. He was already envisioning her as his future wife and thought this would be a stepping stone to that point but now has feelings of doubt.
Jesse reassures him, and they mutually decide that he needs to talk to Rachel so she can see this side of him, especially with the rose ceremony on the horizon and the even bigger decisions ahead.
3) Rose Ceremony
Gabby reflects on her bad luck during fantasy suites ahead of the final rose ceremony of The Bachelorette Season 19. Gabby only has Erich left and is struggling with knowing if he is her person or if someone better for her is out there. On the other side, Rachel has all three men still here and has told two that she is falling in love with them and one that she is in love with them.
As the men arrived for the rose ceremony, Zach arrived first and asked to speak to Rachel before the ceremony. Aven and Tino trickle in later and Rachel’s three men are lined up, staring down two roses on the table. Meanwhile, Zach is talking about how unauthentic their overnight date was and how it was like two strangers spending the night together. Rachel arrived and had a cheery discussion with Jesse about the dates. It’s hard to see how Rachel doesn’t see what happened between her and Zach. Jesse told Rachel that Gabby wouldn’t be joining her as she only had one man remaining. He fails to tell her about how Zach is feeling or that he wanted to talk to her.
Rachel addressed the men, and Zach just stood in line until she went to grab a rose. This was a staged moment. Waiting until the last possible second to talk to her. Oh well. Now we turn to Gabby, deciding what to do about Erich. She said she needed to lay it all out on the table with him so they could work through it. Erich is preparing as if there is going to be a rose ceremony since he doesn’t know what happened to the other two men.
As she seeks out Erich, Gabby talked about deserving a man that is here for her and that she can’t tolerate any more pain. She said walking away from him would protect her. Whatever decision she makes, she wants it to be hers and no one else’s. She met up with Erich, and they discussed what happened between them, and then she dived into what happened with the other men and that he was the only one left. She talked more before revealing that she was in love with him; that is all he could have asked for. She said it feels so right being with him, and she feels so safe and comfortable. She made this decision herself, and Erich couldn’t be happier.
Now back to the drama. Zach pulled Rachel aside to discuss how he felt before she started to hand out roses. However, we will not get to see that in this episode. We now go back to California, where Jesse is standing in an empty studio, and notified Bachelor Nation that we won’t find out what happens until next week for what is to be the most shocking finale yet…per Jesse.
We will have to wait one more week to find out what happens to our two Bachelorettes on The Bachelorette Season 19.
What do we think about Zach and Rachel? Will they be able to recover, or is it already Tino’s to lose?
