Buckle up, Bachelor Nation! Last night was the ever-popular Men Tell All episode of The Bachelorette Season 19. We’ve come a long way since the beginning of this crazy season that featured not just one but two bachelorettes in Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey.
The season is drawing to a close as Fantasy Suites are on the horizon. The Bachelorettes have met the families, now it’s time to make the big decision.
Let’s find out what the men had to say about The Bachelorette Season 19!
The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 8 recap
1) The Last Hometown
As if we could forget Aven was the only one not to get their hometown date last week. We kicked things off tonight with his hometown date with Rachel. The two met in Salem, Massachusetts home of the infamous Salem Witch trials. Rachel was pretty nervous following her poor run of hometown dates after breaking up with Tyler and having issues with Tino’s family.
It was hard to take their date seriously as creepy Halloween music was playing in the background foreshadowing the spooky date in store for the couple. Their first stop was with a love witch who read their palms and offered advice on their love journey. Before they could escape the room, the table fell over, wrecking their love spell. Great start, Aven.
Then came the dinner with his parents. Aven revealed that neither parent had been in the same room for six years, nor had they both met someone he was serious with. These were a lot of firsts for Rachel, who was on a downward trajectory with hometown dates. Aven’s dad pulled Rachel aside, first feeling pretty skeptical of the journey. Everything is fun and games until you get off the show. Rachel affirmed that she has thought about life after the show with Aven and talked more about this than was shown in other hometowns.
Aven’s mom was up next and had some hard-hitting questions about the guys still here, but all-in-all, it seemed both conversations went well. Aven talked with his dad and asked if they were ready for a proposal. Aven said he’s getting there, and if Rachel takes him that far he said that’s enough validation. For the first time in Aven’s life, both parents met and agreed on a woman for him. He admitted to Rachel that he was falling in love with her, and in a side interview, she revealed the same sentiment. Leaving this date, Aven may be the one.
They cut back to Jesse in front of the live audience, and they glossed over the fact that there was a rose ceremony and the women elected to keep all three men each. This has to be one of the first times, at least in my experience, that a rose ceremony was essentially skipped.
2) Men Tell All
Fourteen men were featured on the Men Tell All on The Bachelorette Season 19. Some household names included Logan, Nate, Meatball, Tyler, and Jordan V. After some opening softball questions, they dive deep into the drama and recap some of the season’s most dramatic moments, including Logan’s double-dating, Chris’s fantasy suite comments, and Hayden’s inappropriate comments.
After this drama montage, Jesse asked the guys how they narrowed their focus. Ethan said it was as soon as they got on the cruise ship. Quincey said it was Gabby from day one. Jacob apologized for his words against Gabby and got a round of applause from the audience. Roby, rocking a new blond do, also chimed in on almost everything despite leaving the mansion after four hours. He wasn’t even there for half of the drama that went down.
The men then discussed Chris’s actions, and no one had a nice thing to say about him, not about how he acted toward the women or around the house. Nate ended the conversation with a meaningful sentiment that boiling women down to what they can do for you sexually is barbaric and that men need to hold other men accountable.
Hayden was the topic of conversation when they got back from break. Jesse opened it up to men to comment on his words and actions. Mario said it’s cowardly and says much about his character by not showing up tonight. Then the conversation changed to Logan, sitting in the men’s front row. They talked about how his switch from Rachel to Gabby impacted other men and their relationships with the women.
He was welcomed to the hot seat for a one-on-one conversation with Jesse. In reflection, Logan said he should have pulled both aside before the rose ceremony and discussed what he was feeling. Jesse asked Logan point blank if he regretted switching, and he said no. He apologized for making things more difficult but had to follow his heart and be true to himself.
Jesse dropped the news during a champagne toast revealing that everyone in the audience received a free cruise through Virgin Voyage. What a letdown. Honestly, this was teased big time ahead of the Men Tell All as a teaser for next season or some news about the Bachelor in Paradise. Instead, the lucky few in the audience got a free cruise.
Next up in the hot seat was Nate. They start by recapping his time on the show and seeing how close he and Gabby were. He even teared up watching the reruns seeing what could have been. They capped off the rerun with how it all ended. Nate said it was one of the toughest goodbyes ever. He recalled the day saying he was so excited to go on the one-on-one just to get sent home.
After receiving a round of applause from the audience about his comments on his profound love for his daughter, Jesse then asked Nate what everyone had been wondering about, and that is the animosity surrounding Nate on social media. Allegedly he was accused of hiding his daughter from a woman for a year and a half while also dating two women simultaneously.
He said that his divorce was centered around his daughter, so he felt he had to put up walls to protect her. He also apologized to the woman he was allegedly cheating on and said that he was not the man he was then. Alec said that great men make other men great, and he felt he was better after spending time with Nate. After all this, I’m still a big Nate fan.
Before Jesse introduced the women of The Bachelorette Season 19, he chatted with four members of the upcoming season of The Bachelor in Paradise, along with some very interesting teasers.
3) Men Tell All to The Bachelorettes
Finally, the women of the hour! Gabby and Rachel took the stage and sat in the hot seats seeing the men for the first time in a while. They discussed what it was like having two Bachelorettes and the ability to lean on each other and bounce ideas off each other. Jesse brought up their first impression roses, with Rachel selecting Tino and Gabby selecting Mario.
Gabby and Mario had a conversation about this experience, and both felt slighted and didn’t communicate well. Rachel recapped her first date with Jordan V. and apologized again for sending him early. Jesse talked about the hurtful comments made by Hayden and Jacob and allowed Jacob time to apologize. He did with a full heart and tears and said he is working on himself and his self-awareness.
Next, the conversation switched to Logan and his actions. Rachel said she was hurt and wished he had kept his heart open, but she understood his move. Logan said he was waiting for the perfect time and place to have that conversation but it never occurred. Jesse asked Rachel about her breakup with Tyler, and she said she felt the importance but didn’t feel like she could get there emotionally in the end.
Tyler said he accepted that and thought she did a perfect job in the situation. Speaking of goodbyes, let’s turn to Gabby and Nate’s breakup during The Bachelorette Season 19. Gabby said she was happy to see Nate and noted he had a large impression on her journey. Nate said although it didn’t end how they wanted it, in the end, what they had was beautiful and that he still admires and adores her for her decision-making at that moment.
Now on a lighter note, they roll some bloopers. A lot of armpit sniffing, some animal interference, and prop breaking. They invited the two co-stars of the upcoming movie Bros and debuted a sneak peek at the movie. They played a game with The Bachelorettes and let the movie’s costars decide the do’s and don’ts of dating from The Bachelorette Season 19. Speedos, intense first kiss, and pouring spaghetti sauce on yourself…cough cough, Meatball. Of course, he had to shower himself in sauce…again.
The teasers for the end of the season showed there is a lot more drama to get through before we have proposals, if we even get there.
Some Bachelor in Paradise members were recently teased and featured in the previews tonight. Take a look at who we think will be on the show. What were your thoughts on this Men Tell All?
