The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 8: Best and worst moments
By Julia Wagner
Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 19 brought us the final hometown date as Rachel ventured to Salem, Massachusetts, to visit Aven. Nothing gold can stay, however, as the rest of the episode was taken up by The Men Tell All.
After this episode, I’m very much hoping the final episodes of the season give us something more. We need at least some drama!
Let’s get to the best and worst moments of The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 8!
The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 8: Best moment: Aven’s hometown
Salem, Massachusetts! I believe this is the first time we’ve ever journeyed here on The Bachelorette.
There were some interesting details to this hometown date. I was very interested and surprised to hear that Aven’s parents hadn’t been in the same room for years–the show’s dream as far as drama goes. However, there wasn’t much drama to speak of!
However, I enjoyed exploring the witch shops of Aven’s hometown to the tune of VERY dismal, depressing, creepy music. Was this a Salem thing or meant to highlight Rachel’s fear of disapproval?
I just got such a kick out of how this was edited. SO dismal.
Best part? The Love Witch of Salem. I wish we had spent the whole episode with The Love Witch!
The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 8: Worst Moment: The Men Tell All
Where were the villains?? Chris and Hunter were notably absent from the proceedings. They could have provided interesting drama and debates or even gotten some redemption. But alas, we will not get that chance.
What is The Men Tell All without the villains? They were stuck interrogating men who had barely caused any drama at all!
Overall, I felt that these men were too nice and non-dramatic to warrant a real Men Tell All episode. Thank goodness Bachelor in Paradise is on the horizon!
Please never give us a Men Tell All like that again…
