The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 3: Best and worst moments
By Julia Wagner
This was a crazy week on The Bachelorette Season 19. Rachel and Gabby decided they wanted the men to pick a lane but then got (understandably) upset when the men did just that, leading to many awkward moments. We got a deliciously uncomfortable rose ceremony, several tearful conversations, and a couple of lovely one-on-one dates.
This may come as a surprise, but I loved this episode! The season is still figuring itself out and is hitting some awkward roadblocks, but this fact makes it less polished and more real, IMO.
Let’s get to the best and worst moments of The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 3!
The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 3: Best moment: Rose ceremony
I may be in the minority here, but I loved the awkward setup of this rose ceremony. These ceremonies on The Bachelorette can often come across as boring, long, and rehearsed, with the lead handing out predictable roses with a blank stare and the men obediently accepting.
This change-up, which involved the Bachelorettes offering roses to different men that they could choose to accept, led to some super real reactions from both the men and the Bachelorettes.
I enjoyed watching the men from the different teams celebrate with each new member they got. Hilarious.
Rachel got the short end of the stick, as three men chose to go with Gabby instead, but one suitor, the beloved Meatball, regretted his decision and returned to (attempt to) accept Rachel’s rose! We’ll see what happens with that next week!
The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 3: Worst moment: Gabby’s visit to the house
Okay, this was just confusing and painfully awkward to watch.
While Rachel was on her date, Gabby got bored and decided to pop by the mansion to visit her many suitors.
From what we saw, it looked like NONE of the men pulled Gabby aside or even attempted to talk to her. This is hard to believe, but maybe the men didn’t know they were supposed to do that?
The “visit” consisted of the guys tossing a football around (they weren’t even tossing it to anyone– it usually just fell on the ground!). Gabby ended up leaving the house nearly in tears, feeling unwanted and unloved.
I doubt she will be attempting any more visits in the future!
That was quite an episode, wasn’t it?
