After a great kickoff to The Bachelorette Season 19, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia are back for the second episode! The ladies kept 29 guys after night one meaning they now had plenty of men to get to know.

Many they didn’t even get to speak to on night one. Apparently, the mansion wasn’t ready for all the men, as many were left sleeping on couches and bed-like structures inside and outside of the mansion.

Now, let’s see what was in store for Gabby and Rachel in The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 2!

The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 2 recap

1) Pool Party Pageant

As the ladies contemplate what they should do with the men today, the rain continues to come down outside. Wanting to get to know the men both mentally and physically they decide to have a pool party pageant having the guys dress in themed speedos and strut their stuff.

The men obliged and showed off their bodies and hidden talents. Talents included juggling, dancing, and pouring pasta sauce on themselves. If you didn’t draw the connection, it was Meatball (James), the 25-year-old real estate broker from Winnetka, Illinois, who covered himself in sauce in front of The Bachelorettes. He ruined spaghetti for at least 28 other guys.

The women chose a few guys to return to their place to get to know them better. Rachel struck out with her first chat with Jason, the 30-year-old investment banker from Santa Monica, California, who revealed he was here for Gabby. She stumbles through the next few conversations before chatting and eventually kissing Logan.

Now mind you, Logan kissed Gabby on night one. Gabby had a conversation with Johnny, the 25-year-old realtor from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, that was sealed with a kiss. The two Bachelorettes have a conversation about who they are interested in. Both women discover they are interested in Logan. Nevertheless, Rachel gives out her group date rose to Logan while Gabbi gives hers to Johnny.

2) Love at Zero Gs

The first one-on-one date of The Bachelorette Season 19 went to Jordan V., the 27-year-old drag racer from Alpharetta, Georgia,  chosen by Rachel. She picked up Jordan in a classic car, and the two drove to the airport, where they boarded a plane to experience zero gravity.

Rachel, the pilot, was ready for the experience, but Jordan, afraid of heights, was not. Although the gravity may have disappeared, the chemistry between Jordan and Rachel didn’t. The two share a kiss suspended in space and time.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Chris, the 30-year-old mentality coach from Redondo Beach, California, is conversing with some guys about which lady they are interested in. As the guys answer, he dives into a dilemma involving Fantasy Suites. Slow down, buddy it’s only day two! The men responded about how you would imagine saying it’s too early to talk about that, and it’s almost inappropriate. He’s confident I’ll give him that. Already pegging himself in the final four.

Back to the show’s real focus, Rachel and Jordan go to dinner at an old movie theatre in Los Angeles and get to know each other more. We know where they stand, so let’s get back to the mansion. Some guys confront Chris about his comments and accuse him of being manipulative and controlling. There’s always drama in the house, but the drama starts on the date.

The more Rachel talks to Jordan, the more she can’t help but feel something is missing. In a state of confusion, she excuses herself from dinner contemplating what to do with her rose. Rachel follows her gut and sends Jordan home. Although he’s a great guy, she just can’t see herself with him.

3) Helicopter to Hot Tub

During Rachel’s one-on-one date, the mansion receives the second date card of the day, the one-on-one date with Gabby. Nate, the 33-year-old electrical engineer from Chicago, Illinois, was the lucky recipient and was told to meet Gabby at her place and to bring a swimsuit. Nate arrives at the house and finds Gabby and Rachel. Rachel can see the connection between the two. Gabby and Nate board a helicopter as Rachel watches on. I wonder what was going through her head at that moment, having sent home Jordan on her first one-on-one date.

The helicopter takes them past the mansion, where the other guys look on, and several California landmarks, including the Santa Monica pier, the Hollywood sign, and downtown Los Angeles. The flight ends at a personal hot tub overlooking the cityscape. The two kiss for the third time on the date and you can definitely start to see the connection between the two. In an interview, Noah talks about his daughter and how he misses her. When will he bring this up to Gabby?

The two go to dinner at Union Station in LA, and Nate reveals he has a daughter. The two talked about her and honestly, it strengthened their relationship, but Gabby has thoughts about if she’s ready to be a mother. She isn’t close to her mother and fears she can’t be a good mother because of this. In the end, she takes a holistic approach and realizes she doesn’t have to make the decision now. At the end of the dinner, she gives the rose to Nate and he accepts happily. The two seal the date with their fourth kiss of the day.

4) First Official Rose Ceremony

After not having a rose ceremony on night one of The Bachelorette Season 19, Gabby and Rachel host the event again after having more time with all 28 eligible bachelors. Three men already have roses in Logan, Johnny, and Nate. The guys start to divvy up their time, meeting with both women. Mario talks to Rachel after securing the first impression rose from Gabby and they start to build a relationship. Logan and Gabby share another moment which puts him in an interesting position.

Some of the guys discuss bringing up Chris’s comments to the ladies. Quincey, the 25-year-old life coach from Miami, Florida, pulls Rachel into their conversation and they let her in on what Chris said about Fantasy Suites. Rachel interrupts Gabby’s conversation and discusses the news.

They set off to find Chris and pull him aside. Gabby gets right to the point and asks why he is talking about Fantasy Suites already. Chris tries to backpedal and bring others down, but Gabby won’t tolerate it. She uses his words against him, and since he is already having reservations about Fantasy Suites, they won’t let him get the opportunity and send him home early.

In an awkward exit, they escort Chris out, but he is condescending and very arrogant in the act. Arrogant enough that he turns around and comes back in after the ladies leave. He tries to confront the men that discussed this with the Bachelorettes, but the women stop him and ask him to leave…again. A few step up and make sure he leaves. Hopefully, for good this time.

The cocktail party ends, and the group prepares for the first official rose ceremony of The Bachelorette Season 19, which begs a great question. How is this going to work with two Bachelorettes? Gabby and Rachel will collectively hand out roses tonight, signifying that they both want to continue the relationship.

Although they alternate handing out roses, it was a joint decision in choosing the men they wanted to keep in the mansion. Hopefully, by the night’s end, everyone will have their own bed.

The Bachelorettes go through the men handing out roses. As they do the interviews, the guys pick which Bachelorette they’d like to pursue. Rachel hands out the final rose to Mario, leaving four men without roses. The remaining men share in the toast as they all seek to find love. The sneak peeks at next week’s episode show a photoshoot with the ladies and ensuing drama as the guys try to single in on one Bachelorette, breaking the other’s heart.
